best to use a 2nd display and use monitoring apps on it
That's what I do, because I currently don't have a second monitor; Otherwise I'd put it there.
The big downside is that it is not free.
Also like to mention that if you're playing mostly games on Steam, Steam has it's own FPS counter. Just need to turn it on in the settings of the Steam application.
Configure MSI AB settings for what you wish to see by enabling OSD for anything u want on screen. Once enabled, RTSS will run in background, then configure RTSS for things like osd size, color, font, position...
You can configure osd hotkey in msi AB allowing u to toggle the osd info on/off so it's not in your face at all times.
