Airflow Fan vs Static Pressure Fan
So I heard that static pressure fans are used for areas that are in tight spaces, like air filters, radiators, and cpu fins. Currently I have the Zalman z9 Neo case and I am using corsair AF 120 fans in the front, will this effect my performance? What is the difference between the two and is it okay for my to use airflow when I am suppose to use static?

Agree I use Arctic F12s AF since they are cheaper in packs, and have used them on heatsinks like the 212 plus and Xigmatek Thor’s Hammer and they work fine - too cheap to get a dedicated SP for a measly 1c or 2c difference
Even though there is a door in the front panel changing to SP fans will make minimal differece? Also if I tear the door off I will get more airflow right?
''Tearing'' it off is a bit far, see if you can take it off before you resort to ruining it.
But, if you can, I would recommend it.

Agree removing the door would be more of an improvement, and you are just sacrificing some quiet muffle for unrestricted airflow.
If he's got a headset on, and doesn't have the fans screaming (they shouldn't be with unrestricted airflow), then he won't hear them at all.

My 2 cents: an unrestricted airflow allows for better temperature = allow for lower RPM = less noice

If you have quality fans like Corsair ML you have the performance with nearly no sound anyways.
Otherwise if you have to worry about fan placement or what fans to use, you use the wrong case IMO.
Speaking of the ML fans are they static or airflow? It doesn't specify and based on the looks of the fan it looks like Static Pressure because the blades look fat.
Actually they are a mix of both. The size of the blades has nothing to with it. Look At the NZXT Aer P fans (thin blades as SP)
Or BeQuiet Silent Wing 2 which are also bigger blades but AF.

Wow I did not know that, so I guess the hybrids are better than the fans that are dedicated to one type of airflow/pressure..
Nah the SP Fans only push air to the front and not in a wide arc like the AF fans. ML still push them fron in an arc and therefor lose a bit of the pressure but not in such a wide arc as AF.

The difference in most cases are within margin of error. But also always depending on your case and configuration of your entire fan placement.
