Bottlenecking

Hello people of steam, I recently bought a new laptop with above average specs, Intel core i7 9750h, gtx 1660ti, and single channel ddr4 1600mhz ram which is 8gbs. My question is will the ram bottleneck the rest of the system because it is single channel? I hope to play rust and I know it is ram heavy.

Also check the system with cpuz and see what ram it is, cause it's not no 1600mhz if it is ddr4

Laptops with that cpu will come with either 2400 or 2666 for the ram

It's 2666mhz, I meant to write 2600mhz because it's easier than saying 1600mhz

Bud that isn't how it works. The fact it's a laptop has nothing to do with it. Other than the fact that the parts are mobile, and heating can be an issue, (the laptop I bought, Lenovo legion y540, is notorious for not overheating even on max load) laptops are absolutely fine

If it doesn't overheat then its because it throttles down. All laptops will overheat or throttle so they dont making the single channel ram not even an issue. The cpu and gpu wont work fast enough to need the dual channel ram.

exactly thats the whole point of buying a laptop otherwise big companies would not make them and sell them nothing wrong with his laptop
