Windows 10 DDU password

Upgraded to windows 10 and was going to install latest driver but DDU is saying I need a password for safe mode or something, never used any passwords on all my years on windows 7, am I ok to carry on using DDU without a password or will I be in deep ♥♥♥♥ if I do...cheers

If you never used a password try login in without one, just keep the password field blank.

If it's asking for a password you configured your account to have one.


If you are now stuck and can't log in make a Hirens Boot flash drive and use that to remove the account password.

As far as I remember it asks for password the first time so it can store it for future reference. If you do not enter a password it will never ask again.

I've never seen such a thing regarding ddu and it asking for password in all the years it has exxisted... Screenshots?

Windows will always ask for a password when loggin in to safe mode if a password is set on the account. Even if the password login was disabled or if it has been replaced by a pin.

Most people never set a password which is why you don't see this very often.

Well yea if set by the user then it always would ask, safe mode hasn't got anything to do with it.

Maybe Win7 users are just not used to the fact that in Win10, even when there is only one user and it doesn't have a password that you still must click the user at the login screen.

Windows 10 goes straight to desktop on my pc, there is no requirement to click on user.

Same here, anyway just got round to doing the DDU safe mode thing and thankfully no password needed. Thankyou all for the help and replies :)
