My phone storage problem
I don't have an awesome phone with big storage.
So here's the confusion -
My phone has 16gb ROM
I get 10.7GB internal storage
I have used 3.58GB
But 9.5GB storage is full.
Why??
It's not only my phone (vivo y21l) problem but it's In Redmi Note 5 pro too.
I even tried to Scan but no useless files were found taking space.

Is there any fix for it??

Do the math

16gb and you can use 10.7

16 -10.7 = 5.3 used
you have used 3.58
5.3+3.58 = 8.88

9.5 full isn't much more than 8.88 that's accounted as used. The small difference is likely down to difference in how a gb is calculated and displayed. 1024bytes = 1 MB

For example

My phones SD card is 256gb but my phone says it's 238.5
My PC's SSD is 500GB but it shows as 465GB in Windows but also 500,090,007,552 bytes

But I'm saying it's 9gb full is in the 10gb storage.
What are you using to scan for junk? Try CCleaner
periodically move your old pictures and videos to the micro SD card and upload to google)

install only the barest minimum of (android) apps:
antivirus
malwarebytes free
call block
and some of your favorite games

Is installing the apps important?
I see zero need for Antivirus or malwarebytes on a phone. CM Battery Doctor, CM Browser (this has ad-block which is great for youtube), Piriform CCleaner... are good apps to have though.

Do this instead.

Hookup the phone to a PC via usb data sync cable, view the phone as a storage device, it will show up as a drive letter in Windows OS and look like a memory card, transfer off of the phone any personal files, documents, pictures, videos, music, downloads...

Then eject the usb device in Windows and then disconnect the phone. Now make sure Contacts are synced via your Google account. Make sure you also know all your account logins, if not now is a good time to reset their pw while you still have the phone full functional as-is given what all you use, have installed, etc.

Then when you sure you have what files u need off the phone and have synced account data to ensure you can restore things back again, such as Contacts... go to settings, system updates and if available, apply latest OS updates. If there is an update you apply, make sure the phone has rebooted fully at least once. Once no more system os updates are available, factory reset the whole phone and go from there.

Yes 16GB is not much at all and around 1/4 to 1/3 of that will be already taken up by the OS and pre-installed apps it originally came with. So learn how to make better use of what free space you do have. If the phone allows for an SD card, see what the phones specs sheet says is supported and buy, insert, format a microSD card for the maximum allowed size, which again will vary based on the actual phone model. 16gb and 32gb microSD are quite cheap and will help you out alot on such device with such small internal space. However the phone might not have options allowing apps to install directly to SD card by default. Some do and some dont. If yours does not, what you do is install an app, let's say a game. Once game is installed, go to settings, applications, click on the app or game in question and in its app properties should be a Move to SD card option. If this is grayed out for certain things, then those won't be allowed to be moved, which will be the case for certain apps like Google Play and things of that sort. If you use apps such as Facebook or Facebook Messenger, look for the Lite version of these in Google Play Store, just ensure its official and not a copy-cat app. The lite version of such apps take up alot less space.
