Normal temps for a Ryzen CPU?
Yeah, I can easily search it up on Google, but many people are saying different things.
More specifically I have a Ryzen 5 2600, and the temps while playing a very demanding game which is CPU intensive (X Plane 11), the temps are mostly around 80c. Some hot days it reaches 86c. Is this normal?

Yes it is nothing to worry about. The CPU would throttle on itself when it gets to hot. A better cooling solution could get the temperature down depending on multiple factors into you entire hardware as well as your room ambient temperature.

That sounds about normal... The 2600 comes with the Wraith Stealth cooler, right? It's not regarded as a great cooler, but generally adequate at best. It's the same story with the Wraith Spire as well, which is what my 2600X came with. I usually see temps at around 34c when idle, and between 75-82c when playing games, particularly with more demanding titles. The highest temp I've ever seen personally was about 88c with a synthetic test on a relatively hot day. My case is optimized for high airflow.

I hope this helps.

It is definitely high. My laptop has better temps than that. It should be 70c or lower. Clean out dust, and reapply thermal paste. I recommend using Arctis Silver 5.

No it should not - also you cant compar laptops with desktops. In desktops you have a far higher voltage as you also have more performance and are not required to possibly run on battery.
The chip is fine to 100C. Soemwhere around 93-95C the chip will start to throttle, befor that it is fine.
having high temperature just mean you have a weak cooler or clocking it highly (or in this case XFR does) not that it is dangerous or broken.
The hardware is intended to do that and "smart" enough to see how high temperature is and how much higher it can boost to delievr extra performance.

Under 90*C is fine for Ryzen
Get better cooling, such as BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4

A quick test to try - when playing Xplane, leave the lid on and check temps. Then remove the side panel, and check temps again.

If there is a decrease in temps with the lid off, it may uncover an airflow problem.

The stock cooler that came with your Ryzen cpu (it varies based on model) should be just good enough to not have the cpu overheat on stock clocks. If it's near 85 under heavy loads, install a better cooler with a 120mm or 140mm fan on it
