they also usually give thermals, power and acoustics.

unless they manage to fix the issue before shipping the cards to retailers.
I always go with sapphire...they seem to have quality cards
Thank you, good comparisons...looks like I missed anand....
Perhaps my logic is flawed, but observing the fact that I did not even game in this whole month since I got the card...because even if I had time, I just did not feel the interest to do so...and that I did not see any new games worth my time...nor do I see any in the next months...perhaps those frames dont mean much to me nowadays....and I do not stress things as I used to ...to just jump on the "greatest/fastest card"....merely a mindful observation of oneself ;)
SapphireTech is the no1 seller and manufacturer of AMD cards. They ONLY manufacture AMD GPU's and have been for more than a decade and I believe they were the first to implement the vapour chamber in the coldplate.
Yes, I loved them for the vapor hambers...those cards were fast to cool off after a gaming session, literally within 10 seconds..."toxix, vaporX" i think it was the series...
I still use a 1080p monitor, as long as i can max out anything on it for the next 2 years im happy....and if its above 40 frames...
yes, that is what I was thinking as well...the first time I saw the "bonus"/new changes that navi offered...I was underwhelmed by it....especially the "no blur" / sharpening comparisons...it felt like a joke...in a way, it felt like a second gen top card will last a loooong time...since the entire xbox line of games will be based on the tweaked navi...so I would call it navi 1.5 ....having a next gen will make pretty much all console ports palayable, rather well (well not all, but you get my point)....I miss RTS games, and frankly for those a solid gpu is key...but with my current build I am ok on that front....
Thank you all for contributing to the discussion....it was helpful. :- )
It also made me realize that looking objectively at things, I do not game much, if at all in the last 2 years, if the oldie 7950 would not overheat (and I already replaced its thermal paste once, since 2012....i would have stayed with it....was just tempted by the $310 sale of the vega 56 and the lower temps/power draw...which i was shocked to observe, and still am not certain if it really just uses 5 watts in idlr.....are those numbers correct? I had seen 3W, 9, 11 watts....with the gou clock at 26MHz ,799 memory...I actually looked at my ups draw, and was wowed....
Anyway, to the topic.

These guys do some pretty good reviews, and as you can see, there is a pretty noticeable difference between the two cards. (V56 and 5700)
It's honestly up to you to decide if you think that extra performance is with 100 dollars.
(And if you'll ever use it, which if you're using Vsync on a 1080p60hz monitor, you probably wont' see a gain for a couple of years.)
If you don't mind me asking you both, why don't you want to get Nvidia cards?
You're just limiting the products you can buy, who gives a ♥♥♥♥ what they do/think, so long as you're getting the product that suits you, surely that's all that matters right?
Its a matter of principal for me, I observed questionable practices by nvidia, and will not support them. I used to use their cards more than a decade ago...I just choose to vote with my wallet, and support the company that I value more...in hopes that it will be rewarded...
2017 till now 4K and 1440p 60fps gaming
Don't think I have missed out on anything by only using AMD.
Now, thanks to the monopoly Nvidia has, we now have $2000NZ+ GPU's and it will only get worse.
agreed...I literally used the same 7950 OC'd card since its release...and frankly I was able to tweek the system (old one, with tons of upgrades) over the years to play almost at max specs a lot of games I was interested in...besides some more demanding ones, that I dint even bother with due to the theme, or some other concerns....
