Screen Tearing on steam + windows/google chrome
So i tried adaptive vsync, vsync off, vsync on global settings + forced app settings for these and nothing fixed the screeen tearing, and i only got 60Hz option. I'm using Gtx 1050 ti 4Gb ddrsomething gpu with a toshiba tv monitor... I'm so lost the screen tearing only began to appear earlier today and its like white lightning thingies on screen... Doesn't seem to happen everywhere but it's bothering me.... I tried turning on and off accellator option thingy on google chrome but it didn't change anything. + I don't see why it doesn't happen in videogame but does right now while typing this ...
Edit: hdmi cable and HELP PLEASE

Not even sure if its screen tearing, its like a white horizontal line that shows up quickly on screen o.O and disappears and reappears
Sounds more like it's the Monitor then anything. Have you tried a different gpu yet?

Vsync and other sync options can't do anything when outside of apps such as full screen games. Those have no effect on the OS and apps like steam, web browsers...

Unless you have a GSync Display and enable gsync for everything.

But overall this sounds like a classic case of using a cheap monitor is all.

Aww ok thank you that could be it for sure, My old monitor was wrecked so i used this tv now and it happens
See if the tv has a gaming mode, many do, but in order for that to work, the device such as pc or console has to be plugged into a certain hdmi port on the tv, usually either the first or last port
