msi amd board = run dont walk
wrong chipset for fx, and very weak vrm config even for 95w cpus
a pentium g will run circles around any cpu that would work in that board
what gpu?
if its the onboard 4200-4250, anything is better than that
r7 240
pentium G is trash does not even have 4 cores
i would put anything stronger than a phenom x3 in that board
new pentium g has 2 cores with ht
https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Pentium-Gold-G5500-vs-AMD-Phenom-II-X3-720/m484140vsm326
its a 10 year old cpu/board, time for something much newer
Long and short the cpu is weak and the r7 240 is weaker so I'd say it's all a write off but if you had to change one thing to get better fps it would be the gpu.
