I hope that's a little clearer?
Thanks mate but no drive X: on the list of available drives. It's as if the X: drive doesn't exist, yet it does in Windows 10.
Thanks Motha. I have tried what you suggested but still it isn't seeing it. The next available drive letter was I: I used this so as not to leave any gaps, but alas.. cheers anyway
I have a plan. I'll move standalone X-Plane 11 to the new NVMe and leave that drive purely for that. I'll only have the two library folders then, one for games the other for Microsoft FSX. That way, steam doesn't need to be aware of the new M.2. Job done.
Thanks for input everyone and thanks BadMotha for staying with me.
Have you installed the motherboard chipset and nvme drivers?
I found the "issue" which was an oversight and not an issue.
I have seven drives including the NVMe. When I chose to list drives under library folders it could only display the first 6 drives. X: obviously being at the bottom of the list was the 7th and wasn't being displayed because there wasn't enough room for it in the window. I scrolled down the list and low and behold, it appeared at the bottom, where it had been all along.
When I changed it to I: drive earlier after your post, it obviously wasn't going to display that either, as it was the 7th drive again.
I scrolled by accident.. Not good knowledge for a 54yr old who's been in IT since the 80's, AS400 Mainframe, UNIX, Novell and Windows all flavours.. I've learned so much in my lifetime but retained nothing. What a dumbass I am!
thanks again bud
