PS4 Slim and Upscaling
If I buy a PS4 slim to play the Yakuza remasters, will they upscale on my 4K monitor?

Yes and no.

No as in the PS4 Slim will output a FullHD videosignal.
Yes as in the Display will upscale it.

It will just be 1080p, stretched to fit the screen.

As you would need a PS4 PRO to actually have proper 2160p (4K) scaling and enhanced image quality.

For any PS4 non Pro it would be best to use a 1080p monitor or hdtv via hdmi

i have the ps4, only a pro k will read 4k! on a 4k monitor, the regular ps4 will only read 1080! get a pro k!

The ps4 slim is also terribly built and loves to overheat just like ps3 slim.

agree i ran through two of them! overheated on me and got loud as a motor horn but doesnt do it no longer

Went through 3x ps3 slim just playing the first 100 hrs or so of GTAV back when it was new.

Not sure how the ps4 slim performance is either. I know that ps3 slim was not as good performance wise as the other two types of ps3 console.

I eventually got GTAV on PC and continued on that way. As for console I waited and got PS4 Pro, which I very much am happy with.

ps3 and ps4 can output 1080p
ps3 plays most games at 720p and upscales the image to 1080i/p

ps4 pro, can play bd movies at 4k, but games are still done at 1080p60 and upscaled to 4k

Yes but PS4 PRO does gpu upscaling.

Better then having a old ps4 run at 1080p and stretch to 2160p on a 4K monitor or tv. As its just not the same thing. Plus on the older ps4 consoles it's usually 1080p/30

Well, current shopto price is £300.

I know GAME will do trades on older generation consoles for the PlayStation 5.
