i5-7600K + GTX 1070 SC = bottleneck @1440p@60fps ?
Hello mates,

the potential system: i5-7600K @4.2GHz (running stable @ 1.020 v)
going to overclock the cpu up to 4.7GHz
EVGA GTX 1070 SC
32 GB DDR4 @ 3200Mhz CL16
Seasonic Platinum 550W PSU

Question: will this system be ok to run games like Dragonball FighterZ, Tekken 7 at 1440p / 60Hz? (Fighting games are locked to 60Hz) or will my cpu bottleneck hard?

I'll appreciate every helpful comment.

No, it won't bottleneck. Even sandy and ivy bridge CPUs can handle a 1070 just fine at 1440p.

It should maintain 60fps easily.

If your goal is 60fps, you'll be fine.

I think you'll be good with that, too.

thanks for the input so far, folks. Guess no reason to consider an upgrade to an RTX 2060 Super then (although it will give a lot more fps and will have significantly less load).

i run my i 5 7600 K at 4.4 ghz .. have seen no problems in games at 1080 P .. your 2070 should be fine with 1440 P high settings to ultra settings

i do have a decent Z series main board tho ..
Intel Kaby Lake I5 7600K @ 4.4 GHZ <(via asus auto tune in my bios )
ASUS ROG STRIX Z 270 H GAMING motherboard
16 gig of Crucial Ballistic Sport DDR 4 2400 ram\ 4 X 4 gig dimms <(in dual channel mode)
Gigabyte Windforce 2 GTX 1060 OC model \ 6 gig vid card
1 TB Samsung 840 EVO SSD \ < ----new games and OS are on this drive
2 TB Toshiba HDD storage drive \ 7200 RPM 64 meg cache \ used for media and storage only + older games
Windows 10 Pro 64 bit

all asus auto tune did was up my multiplier to 44 ..from 38 so all 4 cores run at close to 4.4 ..system has been stable for over 2 years

and thats plenty for most games

There always is some kind of bottleneck unless you limit your framerate.
You're going to be fine at 1440p 60fps with your specs.
