Now I have a feeling this wont work with a Cooler Master mouse but worth a shot... Again I know with Corsair you can update the hardware's firmware with the iCue software but not sure how you would do so with Cooler Master mouse and keyboard.
I'm sorry I couldn't be more help, hope you don't have to send it back for a refund, it is what I had to do with a Corsair M45 mouse I had. The problems you are having sounds just like what happen to me, what a pain.
I'm using Linux but yes, I've tried rebooting.
Key:
DPI button = 1
scroll wheel button = 2
R click = 3
L click = 4
Front thumb = 5
Back thumb = 6
----------------------------
1+3 = Turn LED on or off
1+2 = Switch effect
1+6 = Change speed (in color cycle mode)
1+6 = Change color (in static mode)
Not really sure what you mean? That wouldn't fix the problem-- the mouse wasn't working at all. Anyways I did get a replacement one (and forgot to post it here, whoops
