What motherboard do you have?
Chipset Vendor Intel
Chipset Model Q45/Q43
Laptops that old did not support Stereo Mix
Stereo Mix is part of the soundcards capabilities, if it isnt showing even after installing the latest soundcard driver that means it is not supported.
Also for others: Horse lover.
Its a 775 Core 2 system
whether its a laptop or not makes no difference
Stereo Mix support didnt become available until Vista or Windows 7 era of hardware
The FACT it is not showing up with the latest soundcard drivers is proof enough that system does not support it
Win10 was not available when that system was released
Its a WinXP or Vista original PC at the latest
You using Win10 with it does not matter, the HARDWARE is what needs to support it and that age of motherboard/soundcard does not support it
REALLY trying to be understanding as you arent familiar with these things
Look up when your CPU was released
That PC is OVER 10 years old if not older
Just because it has a new OS does not make it any less old
That system does NOT support Stereo Mix due to how old it is
And it being a Lenovo motherboard does not helo it any
I Still Don’t See It…
In some cases, your audio chipset drivers aren’t helping your cause. Most likely, this is because they’re outdated. In other instances, however, it’s because the newest Windows drivers for your chipset don’t support this feature. This was the case on my Asus Eee PC (a 1000HE), but I got around the issue by downloading and installing the older Windows XP/Vista drivers for my audio chipset. As always, before changing your drivers, make sure create a system restore point in case things don’t go as planned.
If you are installing the latest Realtek driver from their website and it still does not show up then its as i said, it isnt supported on that board.
Stereo Mix actually has to be supported by the Soundcard, the OS being new is irrelevant.

Yes its for a HP system but the problem is still the same
HP support had the OP do everything youve done, install the latest soundcard driver etc, in the end this is what the OP said after doing all the troubleshooting
