Figured out Connection problem to Steam, (ARRIS Modem) Might be helpful
I had a big problem Booting up Steam and logging in and finely figured it out.
Starting from the Beginning, I would launch Steam on my computer and I would get a little message telling me there is Problem connecting to the servers with the option to run Steam in Offline mode. This was happening over and over. I considered my Firewalls software might be the problem and started checking my security settings and making sure it would allow Steam to launch. That did not solve the problem. I finely figured it out.
It was my Cable Modem. I use a ARRIS Cable Modem that has security setting in it and the settings were set to medium. I set it to Low and That fixed it. I no longer have any issues Booting up Steam.
I was not sure were to post this but It is my hope that this might help others. :lunar2019grinningpig::steamhappy::lunar2019coolpig:

Most modems have ports for game clients blocked by default. Disable the entire useless modem config firewall.

If you have Arris though, those are junk. I'd call the ISP and request their better TechniColor model of modem if available. Or check what modems are compatible with your ISP and opt out of the rental fee from isp and go buy your own Motorola modem with latest gen specs

Well, My ISP is Xfinity (Comcast), Don't know if you have that in your area. The Arris is made by Motorola, Look it up and you will see. Arris purchased the Motorola Home division from Google for $2.35 billion. The modem is not provided by my ISP, Their modem rents out for 13 dollars a month and I got tired of paying for something I will never own. My ISP provider offers different speed selections for different prices, I am getting around 70 mb's a second as far as speed. It works for me. As far as quality with Video, I use a large screen 4K Television as a monitor and everything is crystal clear.
At the moment, Everything is good. I will keep your advice in mind. Thank you for your feedback

70mbps?

What are you paying for. Their 150mbps is dirt cheap now.

If you want your own modem for Comcast, then I'd suggest

I have an SB8200 from Arris, to replace a previous motorola surfboard that got blasted. I agree that accepting any ISP hardware is really not the ideal; subscribing to it even less so.

Remember, after a certain point, its not the bandwidth, but what you do with it. qos can go a long way at home if it turns out someone stupid is ruining it for you and they live in the same house.

also as a purist when it comes to network connectivity, i still get confused when people call modems firewalls or routers. That's like calling the monitor the computer and the computer case the hard drive. but like I said, I am a purist for things like network stuff.
