i7 860 + GTX960 4GB , consider updating to Win10?
I have been using Windows 7 since I have my first laptop in 2012, I recently got a cheap desktop (i5 750 + GTX750 not Ti) and I obtained a i7 860 and a GTX960 4GB for 50$. (got GTX960 for free as my father bought another PC with GTX970, so he gave me his card)

As I own first gen i7, is it better to stay on Win7 or updating to Win10?

No reason not to use Win10, those specs would be fine for it.
Hurry up though, Win10 upgrade is still free until Jan 16th

It's still possible for a little while yet.

Na they left it going on, they put out a notice they end it for sure Dec 31st of 2017, but they push it to Jan 16th 2018, so who knows maybe they push it up again, or might be finally the end for free upgrades.

What's more they took down the other versions.
They just really want people to use Win 10...

your computer is like mine (minus the ram) i'd go windows 10 for sure.
I have an i7 870 and a 2gb GTX 1050 (non-ti) though I do have 16gb of ram,
i'd upgrade to 8 or 16gb of ram, if I was you and keep using the rig youve got.

it was honestly a toss up between the 960 and a 1050 for me, I just happened to find a new 1050 for cheaper. your rig is capable enough.

What other versions?

You always ever only get the latest Win10 build version when you download it with MediaCreationTool
