It's not something you should worry about.

Coincidentally something like that may happen. If it's a real problem that keeps happening try updating your driver.

Sounds like corrupted drivers. Use DDU in safe mode, then reinstall GPU drivers directly from AMD's website.

make sure you installed the proper Updated drivers for your GPU

try an older driver too for your GPU ..it may be more stable

If it keeps happening, keep this updated. May know of a few tricks. But usually something like that may only happen under very specific circumstances, that don't often occur.

It's not something to be too worried about. It may be something that happens very sporadic.

I had this once. I had to change some settings in the Steam interface, to stop this from ever happening again:
view > settings > interface > [uncheck] Enable GPU accelerated rendering in web views (requires restart)


It's a shot in the dark, of course. But this may work for you too, if it happens during playing a video.
It won't do any harm to uncheck that check box, just in case.

It only happens to me when my overclocked card is acting unstable because I played a game for too long with it running at really high speeds.

To recover, I play the same game with somewhat lower OC speeds. Or just reboot and do it again and hope it doesn't crash like that again.

I have learned that many of my games have different tolerances for overclocking; some games are ok with a high overclock; some others may want a not-so-high overclock to be stable. It's something I have learned over time as the tolerances/stability is unique for the system--but you learn eventually what not to do if you don't want it to keep crashing like that.

Drivers themselves have never really been that issue for me. It's almost always been MY FAULT for aggressively pushing the card to do more than it was supposed to.

You need to install all drivers from the mobo website. For the GPU use DDU in safe mode.

Yeah if you are using the generic built in drivers, those are just to get you up and running. You should find the drivers specific for you.

My point of reference is for when someone like me has installed those drivers already, and good or bad, has started to abuse the card, for lack of a better choice of terms.

Which brings me to a point -- if this is all about a new build and the experience is new for you, don't rely on Windows to find the best drivers. Sometimes it does, but often... it does not.

It would be a good idea to check the manufacturer's website for the hardware you have, and see if any drivers you can install are available. Even some NVMe drives, like Samsung and often Intel's--have drivers that let the NVMe drive go faster than the basic Windows drivers, or let them use less power when idling, stuff like that.

Using less power when idling often means lower temperatures, so it could be your nvme drive, if a driver is available for it off the manufactuers website, ends up getting some power utilization features that make it less hot on average, etc.

But in the end, if it works then sometimes it is best to not fix what isn't broke when it comes to drivers.

i have asus rx 580 8GB.
i used to have that error randomly out of nowhere when i first instaled my gpu. sometimes after browsing internet or just playing old, non demanding games.
after several amd driver updates, the error disappeared.

just try installing latest driver from amd:

I fixed the issue by doing a windows update through the website...for some reason it wouldn't let me update through the settings method or whatever...working good now! Thanks everyone!

Went through the trouble of upgrading from windows 8.1 and then ran into more issues after upgrading the OS...

I might try ubuntu later if it doesn't have that stutter every 10 seconds...been a while...anyways thanks again all!

as an alternative, clean installation of windows 10 is better than in-place upgrade.
