Where do I connect these FPC?
So I've been helping a friend build a PC, but I've stumbled upon some FPC that I've never seen before.

As you can tell, I am extremely confused and have no idea what the FCP connector with the pins at the end is and where the F_PANEL header goes.

I salute you if you have the capacity to figure out what's going on from the pictures that I've posted.

Eredetileg közzétette: _I_:
look at the small connectors on the short cable
each should be labeled, power/reset switch, and power/hdd led +/-

plug those into the correct jumpers on the mobo
then connect it to the f_panel connector for the case

the power supply, eps and pcie shoud be labeled also
eps 4+4pin is 4 yellow, 4 black (to the mobo near the cpu)
pci-e 6/6+2 are 3 yellow, 3+2 black (to the gpu)

Right below the connector there is a diagram telling you what pins do what.

It uses the normal layout.

PLED = Power LED.
PW = Power button
HD = Hard drive LED
Res = Reset

I do understand that, yes, but I do not understand where to put the other end of the FCP cable. Since it's not connected.

I think that F_panel is just telling you it goes into that whole set of pins area. Just makes it easier to connect so it's one big connector instead of a bunch of smal annoying ones you have to individually connect to the motherboard.

You don't have to use that cable if the connector on the case also uses the default layout. Which it appears to do.

The F_Panel connector can go on the panel on the motherboard, however it definetely doesn't cover the whole area of it, only a small part of it.

It covers the area you care about.

So what am I suppost to connect if you'd be so kind to further elaborate a bit more? :p

That connector can go right on the motherboard, no need for that cable. It goes on the left side of that big white header.

You can see where both the connector and header are both missing a pin/hole.

So you are refering to the F_Panel connector cable correct?
that short jumper is to plug into the mobo before its installed in the case to make it easier to plug them in to the case connector

the short jumper to the mobo +pled-, +hdd-, pwr, rst in the correct locations
then the cases f_panel connector goes to that short jumper

you should really pull the mobo, there should be a standoff under that screw hole

Could you share a few images please? Also a question if you do not have the original PSU cable, does that prevent your PC from starting (voltage of the cable etc...)

It could potentially cause issues as not all psu cables have the same amp ratings and such. Always use the original cables.

Thank you!!! Having a bit of trouble with the F_PANEL as the pins aren't exactly the same but we'll see if it starts!
