Issues with 7.1 Surround audio (Logitech G633)
(also posted on r/LogitechG) I've had this problem for a while now, thought I'd fixed it but it's starting to bug me once again.

What'd happen in games is, sound coming directly in front or behind me would either be really quiet or not audible at all, instead I'd only be able to hear sound coming from the sides. After some troubleshooting I decided to uninstall drivers and Logitech softwares. It was working fine, well until there I encountered another audio glitch, where all in-game sound (Youtube sound etc. were fine, game intros and steam overlay sound were fine too, just in-game sound) would sound distorted, demonic and buzz-like. I decided to re-install the softwares, that seemed to fix the issue, even though neither of the softwares were "detecting" the headset.

I thought I was done but no, the 7.1 Surround audio issue is still a problem, logitech softwares are for some reason forcing the headset to be 7.1 surround, while stereo was just fine. I tried to force the headset to stereo by following this guide. But for me there's no interface at the "advanced" tab. I'm also using the "Equalizer APO" software to increase overall sound, to help me with competitive games, I've tried forcing the headset to stereo from there but it doesn't seem to be working. I'd appreciate any advice, thanks.

Edit: Forgot to mention that now for some reason the glitch is "reversed", now there's no audio coming from the sides or behind, only directly in front. Though I believe it differs from game to game, still, it's no better.

im not really sure if this is helpfull, but 2 weeks ago i had problems with windows and reinstalled w10, it was the newest verion 19**, i couldnt get the surround sound to work since im really used to that in csgo, tried several different drivers but didnt work.

after that i again reinstalled w10 but then a older version 1809, and now the surround sound works like before.

I'm going to guess that there was another broken windows update.

OP, go into your settings, search restore and click the one that says revert to a previous update, then see if that made any difference.

Because this guy got it back in 1809, i suggest going to 1809.

Uh. Okay so I'm not exactly an expert in this, and last thing I need is more issues. I also have A LOT of google tabs that I wouldn't want gone. Can you guarantee all will be fine or maybe tell how you did it? Doing anything of this sort caused me way too many issues in the past, I wouldn't wanna experience that again. I hope you understand, thanks

Google tabs are saved on the cloud. Sign-in on any device and they'll be there.
Make sure you are not using “headphone” output in your game, some games have a built-in surround driver (e.g. openAL) so just set to “stereo L+R” in the game if you are enabling the Logitech surround driver.

Having both enabled will cause “over processing” the virtual surround and will cause issues as you describe.

Well I meant like this [www.photobox.co.uk]. The tabs are always there when I restart the pc but not sure if they'll after reinstalling windows. Besides, that'should be a last resort as Frank said

They are synced to your google account. It will show up anywhere after you log in.

Not sure if you can change 7.1 s. to stereo through game settings, and the audio software shows that the default is 7.1 surround as well. Do I remove openAL from system? How do I force other games to also use 7.1 surround?

Since you want to use Logitech 7.1 just make sure you set the game output to “stereo” only in the audio settings, then Logitech will handle the surround optimally.
