Issues with 7.1 Surround audio (Logitech G633)
(also posted on r/LogitechG) I've had this problem for a while now, thought I'd fixed it but it's starting to bug me once again.

What'd happen in games is, sound coming directly in front or behind me would either be really quiet or not audible at all, instead I'd only be able to hear sound coming from the sides. After some troubleshooting I decided to uninstall drivers and Logitech softwares. It was working fine, well until there I encountered another audio glitch, where all in-game sound (Youtube sound etc. were fine, game intros and steam overlay sound were fine too, just in-game sound) would sound distorted, demonic and buzz-like. I decided to re-install the softwares, that seemed to fix the issue, even though neither of the softwares were "detecting" the headset.

I thought I was done but no, the 7.1 Surround audio issue is still a problem, logitech softwares are for some reason forcing the headset to be 7.1 surround, while stereo was just fine. I tried to force the headset to stereo by following this guide. But for me there's no interface at the "advanced" tab. I'm also using the "Equalizer APO" software to increase overall sound, to help me with competitive games, I've tried forcing the headset to stereo from there but it doesn't seem to be working. I'd appreciate any advice, thanks.

Edit: Forgot to mention that now for some reason the glitch is "reversed", now there's no audio coming from the sides or behind, only directly in front. Though I believe it differs from game to game, still, it's no better.

Not sure if you can change 7.1 s. to stereo through game settings, and the audio software shows that the default is 7.1 surround as well. Do I remove openAL from system? How do I force other games to also use 7.1 surround?
Since you want to use Logitech 7.1 just make sure you set the game output to “stereo” only in the audio settings, then Logitech will handle the surround optimally.
I just tried with Vermintide 2, there are two options; "Stereo headphones" or "Speakers", neither changed anything, do you know a way to force these games to play in 7.1 Surround?

Could be the Logitech software is glitchy (can confirm my g430 sound card did have issues as well), you can also try Windows Sonic[www.howtogeek.com] which is yet another virtual sound driver.

It's just reverting back to "none" option whenever I close the tab, maybe I need to update the driver. I don't see how though

Should've mentioned this earlier.

https://support.logi.com/hc/en-my/articles/360025341833--FAQ-G633-Artemis-Spectrum-RGB-7-1-Surround-Gaming-Headset

Try downloading their software and enable 7.1 surround from there.

I have both softwares, not sure if it's mentioned in the post, both softwares show image of my headset but it's not detecting the headset. Just a fat "not connected" on the screen. What the ♥♥♥♥ logitech.

If you recently bought it, maybe ask for a replacement?

I believe it's about half a year old now, this is already a replaced one.. long story but it was a problem with the mic which was out of my control. So I got a replacement easily, not sure if they'd do that again. But again I don't think the headset's the problem, it's fairly new and audio coming from Youtube--and basically anything else other than in-game sound is actually fine. But rather the software, or some Windows update. I'll ask, though, there doesn't seem to be another option.

Try uninstalling the headset drivers then uninstall ghub then reinstall ghub and reinstall drivers.

I un&reinstalled both realtek and ghub several times already. Could never get realtek to work either, according to settings I'm currently using some default Windows driver..? No idea.

It's not hard, you can download whatever ms win10 build you want as long as they still support it.

If you want 1809, ok so go download that iso and remake usb flash drive and install it. Then disable Windows Updates until a better build with such issues fixed comes out, or that 1904 gets patched properly.

Install Win10 64bit Pro
and disable Windows Updates using Group Policy if you don't like 3rd party tools like ShutUp10

So is reinstalling another Windows version completely resetting the PC? Or will everything be there? Oh and do I have to buy Windows afterwards?

Reverting to a previous windows update will not reset the computer.

Vermintide supports 7.1 channels if you set headphones and adjusting the audio settings although in my case, my game was already in surround sound regardless of the settings. Most games by default should play in surround if the device supports it and you don't need to force it to. My experience with GHub has been a nightmare though. The past recent updates broke a lot of things such as my mouse sensitivity and my lighting.
