exFAT vs NTFS for steam games and other stuff
I just got a 1tb external drive (partially to keep steam games on). It's formatted exFAT by default, I gave it a shot and large modern games seem to run fine on it. Is there any downsides to running exFAT, I know its only been supported for ~ a year or so. I want to share some files (not games) with linux / other OS, so I prefer not to reformat NTFS if not needed.

Especially when other devices and OS are involved, NTFS is not recommended. Stick with exFAT due to compatibility.
Also, no issues with file ownership flags like NTFS has.

With linux NTFS is really not recommended as it might lead to data losses. If you are you using only Windows use NTFS of course.
