MS Sidewinder GamePad on Steam
Hey everyone,

Im trying to setup my Sidewinder to play on Steam. It is recognized on W10, and I see it "Detected Controllers" in the Controller Setting (Steam), but if I try to get in either "Big Picture Configuration" or "Desktop Configuration", Im getting a "No Controller Attached" message.

Im also getting the "No Controller Attached" message if I try to configure it through the Game Settings in Big Picture.

Anyway to set it up so I can play game with it?

Thanks

how about in
steam -> settings -> [general controller settings]
tick the box for generic and is it listed under detected controllers?

Yup, it shows in the Detected Controller, and "Generic Gamepad Configuration Support" is checked.

I can map my controller, but there's no Save button.

steam controller mapping settings are saved and applied as soon as they are changed

So i click on my Sidewinder gamepad, then land on Controller Setting. Input my buttons, and just close the window?

yes

Ok wow! Seems the only way to save is fill out the last button (Right Trigger). Now it looks like my down button gets stuck, so it automatically always goes down.

Big Thanks for the help, now it looks like i'll open the controller to see if it needs some cleaning.

Yea given how old that controller is, it probably could use a good internal cleaning. Clean it all out with a brush. If any gunk build ups use rubbing alcohol.
