Charger stuck inside phone
This happened about 20 minutes ago.
I was charging my OneplusOne while on work.
It charged for about 10-15 minutes and then I heard *click* and phone stopped charging.

Part of the charger that goes into the phone was hot and smelled like molten plastic.
I tried to pull it out from the phone, but I couldn't.
It's stuck in the phone.

I tried moving it left-right and up-down while pulling it out, but it was still stuck inside.
I also tried pulling it out harder, but not too hard to break motherboard or something.

I work at carbon coke factory and there's a lot of coke dust here, so maybe it caused short circuit somewhere in the charging port or something?

Phone still works perfectly fine, but I can't pull out the charger.
Does anyone knows how to safely pull it out ?

OneplusOne uses micro USB.
I tried searching on internet, but only found articles and videos about USB Type-C and Lighting connector.

And also, person in that video takes out the back cover from the phone.
I can't do that because there's USB cable inside the charging port.

just ask one plus customer support or go a local phone tech shop and pay.

Local repair shop would be the best option. Maybe the USB port got damaged by whatever happend. I'd turn off the phone and only turn it on when absolutely needed until the issue is fixed.

I've been in multiple repair shops and finally found a guy that says that he can fix it.

So he pulled out the cable really hard while moving it left-right and it came out.
It was burnt and started melting a little bit on the top.
He opened the phone, said "♥♥♥♥ Chinese, they always make phones weirdly and hard to open" and connector inside was burnt and there was a lot of burnt coke dust inside.
He took connector from another broken phone and said that he'll be able to fix my phone in about 40 minutes. Price is about $15.

I'm waiting to see what will happen.

Wow, 15 bucks? That's cheap. Also, OnePlus one is actually a Korean company, not chinese.
Let's hope for the best.
You may want to look into some dust protection for the phone or a phone with a better IP rating:

3rd world country. Human work is cheap.
I mean, you can get a damn haircut 10 times for that price.

He fixed it. It works well for now.
But I noticed that he broke some "hooks" (is that correct word for it?) from the back cover that clips in to the phone.
So now volume down button doesn't work unless I hold cover pressed against the phone while changing volume.
Should I try to put some instant glue there?
I broke 2 while trying to open phone before, and it looks like he broke another 2 while opening it today.

But nevermind. Out of all stores I visited, he's the only one that opened phone and actually did something.

I stand corrected, i was pretty sure they're korean based. Evidently, i was wrong.

You could try glueing the case, but don't overdo it and apply some pressure to make sure the case is in the perfect position while the glue is hardening out. Give it at least 12 hours to make sure it's hard enough for light use.

May not be worth it for this one, but strongly suggest getting a dust tight case for your next phone. Or even better, a dusty free job. ;)

Not all Chinese, I suppose. I can open my Xiaomi with a piece of thin plastic in like 15 seconds.

I couldn't find any cases for OnePlus One.
But I guess this should work

It's not easy to find a job. I'll try to find better one after finishing college.
This one is good for now and it's much better from my previous job.

I like Chinese phones because most of them have very good specs and are much cheaper than Samsung, LG, Apple, etc. phones with similar specs.

I actually bought Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 and it arrived from China a week ago.
I haven't tried to open it yet, but I'll try it sometime later.

I had a feeling that something bad could happen to my OnePlus in that dust, so I bought Redmi to use at home and continued using OnePlus on work.

You might be able to buy a replacement cover with fresh hooks.

Plastic clips are the bane of reparability.

At least with cars the hooks/clips are usually replaceable.

Oh, but Redmi Note 7 has got Camera2 API enabled out of the box! Try GCam ports[www.celsoazevedo.com], the thing will make way better photos with HDR+, like Google Pixel better.

Yes, photos with GCam looks much better.
But for some reason, GCam doesn't give me 48 megapixels option. Maximum I can choose is 12 megapixels.
But in stock camera, I can choose 48 megapixels camera.

Chinese phones can be VERY hard to repair. Be happy it has a replaceable jack. Also Carbon coke is conductive.... keep it away from the phone.
