CPU fan and PUMP
Hello there,

I am creating this post because I would like to know why the CPU fan and the PUMP are on 0RPM. Is there anything I can do to put them to start working? It's weird, I have been using full fan speed for all the fans to deal with the hot the PC was generating and was okay but now I have put the fans on default mode because the noise is a bit annoying. Can someone tell me how can I put the CPU fan and PUMP working? I'm completely new with this. I'm using a Ryzen 7 2700x.

Thanks.

As far as I know, most AIOs form Corsair draw power fan header, USB is only for enabling software control. They dont have SATA connectors.

Some of them do use a PSU's SATA connectors for power.

Corsair draws power from the USB connector. Fan header simply won't deliver enough power on its own

Just realized I inserted a wrong link:

Nope. I own a Corsair H100i. it runs just fine without USB connector, only that you can't change Fan and pump speed profile.
I also once set both pump and fans to full speed, and then disconnected the USB cable. Can't monitor the speeds but judging form the noise, the pump and fan speeds didn't change.

you should monitor it, the nocie wont tell you if actually everythign runs correctly. there is no harm to disconnect the Fan header when running.

even one from corsair Beta team stated that it getsits pwoer through USB which is a common thing for Asetek Pumps. At my last test with a Corsair Fan Header shown the same.

It doesn't get the power from USB. USB is for active monitoring for pump/fan speed thermals etc. The power is being fed by SATA connection from the power supply. Then the fans are powered with the fan header that you can connect to any header in your motherboard. Even in your link the guy says that.

the fans are powered by SATA and not all the AiO from corsair have a SATA connector. A single fan header shouldnt be able to deliver enough power for multiple fans + a more power consuming fan pump. USB however does deliver that pwoer while it is also used for controlling and monitoring.
However not 100% sure about it, just that the Fan header is a dummy and not actually used for power delivery but only to fool the motherboard.

I took the time and opened my case to confirm it. I can safely say SATA powers everything for pump + fans because disconnecting cpu header doesnt actually change anything at all. USB is just for monitoring. I took it out and tested it. Pump works no problem but I lost the control over my AIO in link.
Some say that the 3 pin that connects to motherboard is "sensor only"
