Do motherboards affect your microphone?
My microphone is very quiet in everything and idk how to fix it except from boosting it which i dont want to do too much but i got one of the cheapest or maybe the cheapest am4 motherboard cause im dumb (ab350m not pro 4) and i tried multiple mics and idk what else could be the problem. Audio is fine its just microphone volume. Do motherboards affect microphones or does the inbuilt sound have something to do with the mic. Just so i know if i need to upgrade it

if it is about volume then mostlikely not.
Have you looked into your windows settigns if the mics are set to 100% in Windows Settigns?
-What mics did you tried?
-how are they connected? Directly to the motherboard rear O/I or to the case front O/I? USB? 3.5mm?

Have you looked in the playback devices? if you use a headset the mic will be listed in there under recording. Highlight it then open properties

Invest an XLR setup. You won’t regret.

BS - no need to do that for the casual gamer. Even for musicians there plenty studio grade USB mics. However the advantage for gamers is non existing.

Install all the drivers. Dont use the generic built in crap that the OS installed.

done and it is pretty much the same, i put my mic at 20 boost and 80 volume and it sounds decent but there is a bit of static, does windows do a good job of cutting that out or should i let discord do it

Put at 100 volume, no boost.
Use the Discord settings for the rest.

100 volume and 0 boost is too quiet tho

Raise the settings in Discord, it has a boost built into the volume there, allowing up to 200%
