To be completely honest, I have been noticing some problems in FPS games, mostly because either I'm just bad in general or the weight of the mouse is making it harder.
I find that completely believable. Weight and grip are important, it's important to have a mouse that fits your hands and feels right. For me that's something fairly compact and as light as I can get with the absolute minimum of inertia - either a Corsair M65 or G900. And since I had the budget and a grudge against Corsair, I went with the G900 to replace my well-loved but totally impractical Asus Spatha.
Compared to the Spatha, the G900 is almost 50% lighter. It's also got a much slimmer and shorter chassis, which fits my hand length perfectly.
And I felt the benefits of that almost immediately - I had a tendency to overshoot my target and then correct. With the G900 that stopped without me even thinking about it, the lighter mouse had that much less inertia and my grip meant I had better control over it. I also noted that the Logitech 12,000 CPi Optical sensor is much better for fine motions than the Avago in the Asus. The amount of movement needed to register is lower, so the tiny handmovements I prefer work so much better.
Brands like Razer pay Tournament gamers a lot of money to talk about how much of a difference their peripherals make. But in amongst the spin you've got a kernal of truth - having the weapon that suits you really makes a difference. The G900 fits me like a glove, and that made a surprisingly huge difference to my fortunes online.
