Well said, Moose Rancher. Even though it has no adverse effect on the PC besides the inconvenience of having to flip the PSU power switch when turning the system off / on, I still don't think I'd pick up another MSI mobo.
I really think it's got to do with the Power Management Setup in BIOS.
Hope this helps.
While you seem to have a workaround, this would free you from having to do that. The drawback is you'd lose visibility of the light if you do need it, but since it sounds like your PC has been running well, the chances are likely low. And the effort in removing it to troubleshoot if that does occur is probably less than the effort you've put in/still are putting in to turn the PSU switch off and on all the time?
Just a thought.
In conclusion, if someone's situation is just like mine or this thread, please RMA your mobo to the dealer (ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, etc.), this may solve your problem permanently.
Don't waste your time resetting the OS, change the OS version between 10 and 11, disable the "Fast Boot", flash mobo's UEFI, or something else, it won't solve this issue, really.
(Of course, you can try these at first, before you uninstalled your mobo.)
My mobo is MSI PRO B660M-A WIFI DDR4, after I RMA it to the dealer, they directly replace it with a new one, so I don't think SW & FW is the root cause of this issue, the methods mentioned above I've tried so many times, cost me lots of time.
Just RMA the mobo if you are sure the other components are normal.
Hope my reply will be helpful to those who are facing this issue.
So maybe it's something like that just a setting in the bios needs turned off.
This is exactly right. I STILL have my busted mobo, and I've tried every single suggested fix since this thread's inception. I think it might be too late to RMA it, they declined when I tried to years ago too. But a new mobo is the only real solution in my opinion.
