Asus AI Suite 3 error after KB4056892

Considering this may apply to quite a few users, posting this so those affected won't waste their time looking for a fix, like I did. For anyone who has an Asus board and also uses AI Suite 3, the infamous KB4056892 windows update most likely will brick the software. Until Asus releases a patched stable version, the latest beta build does work with the windows update, or at least it did on my Z370/Win10 platform.

So if you got 'server threw an exception error' at logon or noticed your fans running at 100% without any prompt, the following links may interest you.

Asus has released AI Suite 3.00.13 DIP 1.05.13(confirmed working). Get it from the support download site for your board. I'll leave the beta link up in case this latest stable version is only for Z370 boards.

Same problem here. Got AISuite II on Win10 and it stops working everytime I try to start it. AISuite III doesn't support my board so I am not sure what to do. Any suggestions other than waiting for AISuite II fix? I just hope it is even coming since it is an older version...

Unfortunately you'll have to wait until/if Asus decides to release a new AI 2 version. If you need it for fan control, you can set it up in the bios. I know it's not the most user friendly workaround but in lieu of installing another app, it's really your only option atm.

AI Suite 3.00.13 DIP 1.05.13 works on a ROG STRIX Gaming Z270E, although it doesn't have EZupdate or SYS Info, just DIP5.

Fan control is working fine.

I had tried the Beta but it would BSOD occasionally on startup so I uninstalled it.

I did install EZupdate and Sys info from the MB cd after installing the new 1.05.13 and all is working. although I'm not sure if I even needed EZupdate or Sysinfo.

Ah it's not just me then. I'm on Windows 10, RIVE Board (X79), AI Suite II installed through windows 7/8 version. Suddenly stopped working a couple of days ago. Re-installing AI Suite II does nothing as opening the program provides the error 'Program Stopped Working'. AI Suite III can not be installed 'This model does not support this application'.

Hoping for a fix, anyone find a workaround?

Hi Guys,
I found this thread a few days ago re; aisuite threw an exception". I thought I would participate in this discussion and throw in my 2 cents and tell you what I found out;

Bottom line, the Beta worked for me, the "AISuite3_3.00.10". Install went smooth, no hiccups, so stalling, nothing. I don't know if any other betas have surfaced in the past 30 some pages of replies (and I'm not about to pour over ALLLL of the replies either....I just saw the beta I listed above that appeared in the first few original posts, installed it, and it worked for me. I know comp specs are important ESPECIALLY with issues like this, so, here they are;

- At first, I wasn't able to uninstall ANY apps from the ai suite...but eventually I was able to do it. Once that was done, I restarted and proceeded with the install.

I've been reading some of the posts and sadly, many people posting here did not post their comp specs . . . . . I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I think it's an important issue here with regards to maybe finding a common hardware problem these aps are not playing with......or whatever. I just think it would go a long way to helping out. There's alot of comp enthusiasts on here that have some great experience here and maybe...just maybe this might help.

Anyway, like I said...my 2 cents.
I will be playing around with it over the next few days and I'll post anything I run into or if anything strange happens.

I just finished assembling my new ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING rig last night and have the same problem. New Windows install, only minutes old, confirmed AI_Suite_III_3.00.13_DIP5_1.05.13 not working. I want to turn off the AURA LEDs as the PC is in my room and I can't sleep with the cyclic Northern Lights going on... GRRRR!

AI Suite III shouldn't have anything to do with the LED lighting, I turned mine off from the BIOS, there's an option for RGB LED Lighting [OFF] [ON ], at least there is on my ROG STRIX Z270E board.

The beta linked above worked for me. Originally I saw AISuite3 not working after the KB4056892 patch, and it was version 26, and I went up to the latest from Asus's support site version 30, and when I rebooted, I lost ALL my USB ports and could not use a keyboard or mouse on my Asus Sabretooh Z170 mobo. I had to restore an Acronis image for my C: drive back before the aisuite update. Big mess, but now, the beta 31 works and I'm happy with it. Thanks thread!!

thanks for information. I went to the asus site and got the update, It worked for me now I can get the aisuite fans to work again

Yep about a week ago there was a Windows 10 update, quite a large one that required lots of restarts.. once it completed, AI Suite 2 (which was installed but not working) started working again.

It was downloaded from the Rampage IV Extreme Support Page. Haven't tried downloading AI Suite 3 again; as AI Suite 2 is working again i'll just stick with what I know works.
