Headphones not detected when pluged into my monitor.
I have a ASUS monitor with build in speakers which works fine however when i plug my headphones into the audio in plug (green hole) nothing happens.

the sound continues to come through the monitor still and my computer doesnt seem to pick up headphones.

if you know what i can do, thanks.

You probably need to change it on your monitors OSD. Also your computer will only detech your headphones if your monitors allows for audio pass through.

Right click in bottom right corner of screen on speaker icon ... Rest you can probably figure out on your on,it's easy ...
There is nothing on the OSD apart from brightness setting ect. i have HDMI conncected.

yeah as ive said, it doesnt pick up my headphones.

Which monitor do you have , and did you try to plug your headphones intop other audio slots ?
i have a ASUS VP247 (which has build in speakers) and there are no other audio slots. only a green (audio in) one.

Audio in = it doesnt output Audio (audio out) it just is able to get audio signals from another device to that port to put it out on build in speakers

I checked the specs, and it is indeed only audio in.

Appricate the effort. ill have to just plug my headphones in my actual tower instead. although last time i did that im sure they still didnt work.

Yaayy!

issue resolved. i pluged my headphones into the back of my pc into (line out) and then enablesd "speakers" and it worked!

I assumed the green slot on my monitor was for headphones but anyway issue resolved. thanks :D

Monitors that have Speakers or allow audio pass-through via HDMI/DP should have two 3.5mm jacks, one for Output and one for Input. The input would be to connect an outside audio source, like a console, dvd player, mp3 player, etc. And pass that audio to the monitor's speakers. The output would be for headphones.
