It's a LGA 1156 socket from 2009. No current CPU is compatible with that outdated piece of hardware.
It can only fit first generation i3/i5/i7 CPUs.

You will need a new motherboard and DDR4 RAM if you want to upgrade to a 8700k.

Also a 8700k is super expensive you will be better off getting an i3 8100 when on a budget.

your motherboard is not compatible for either 7700k or 8700k.
you need a Z270 Mobo for 7700k, and Z370 Mobo for 8700k.
