Help with ROG notebook.
Hello There!

I have a notebook on hand ASUS Republic of Gamers, model G741J, (GTX960m) when i updated the graphics drivers everygame gets fps drop, even LOL runs at 20fps..
This dont happen when i use old drivers (from G771J) since i cant find original drivers for this lap..

The second problem, some games dont even run with old drivers, like Wow.

Ah, I see your issue now, sorry for the confusion. Tried googling for old drivers, but only the G771J comes up, which you say doesn't work with some games. I don't think there's really anything else to be done. Maybe try contacting Asus directly for the original driver or see if anyone on notebookreview forums has them stowed away.

Google DDU and use it to uninstall the current drivers. Download the latest Nvidia drivers from their site and install those.

Lasted nvidia driver runs poorly, way worse than my other laptop with an 920mx.
I really don't understand.

The best performance I get is from version 351.**, Original driver from G771J. Still much worse than the original driver from this model which I can't find anymore.

That makes no sense, and I suspect you aren't uninstalling the previous one properly. Did you use DDU to do a complete uninstall? People here aren't going to have an archive of old drivers for you, best I can suggest is downloading whatever driver Asus publishes on the support page for your laptop.

If you don't know a lot about uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, you might find that downloading GeForce Experience will be your best bet. It will uninstall the drivers for you before it installs the new ones. I also believe it has where you can go with an older driver. But I think what you need most is a clean install of your drivers.

GeForce experience won't make any positive difference, it'll just provide bloatware.

OP isn't having difficulty installing drivers, the problem is that OP's anaemic GTX960M has been left completely crippled and dead by modern drivers.

In general, don't add software, like GeForce Experience, to solve problems. Use software to diagnose problems but don't leave that software running.

Because otherwise you'll end up with so much garbage on your PC that it'll actually effect performance. Bloatware increases CPU and Memory usage. Once you reach a certain point, it'll actually effect your framerate.

Hello Guys!

Yes, i do know how to handle drivers and OS, i have an linux server debian, another desktop computer running fine (all drivers updated)

To be honest before posting here, i did a full format with windows 10, reinstalled everything from 0, and the lasted driver from nvidia.com.
Same thing, low fps, even on lol.

I read on another forum sometimes the original driver from asus gives more performance than nvidia ones, really dont know for sure, since i cant find this rig original drivers.
