FX-6300 GTX 1050 Ti Bottleneck?

I was planning to upgrade my GPU, and was wondering if the GTX 1050 Ti would bottleneck CPU-intensive games such as CS:GO and GTA 5.

6300 isn't rly stong but a decent match, should work fine.

CSGO nor GTA5 isn't particularly CPU intensive.

They should work together fairly well. But I recommend you replace that FX as soon as you possibly can. You don't have to spend a fortune, but something like a modern day Ryzen R3 or an Intel Pentium would be a big improvement.

I would make sure the 6300 is OC'ed to the edge of it's life at this point till you can upgrade.

CS:GO no, it will run flawlessly, GTA V yes, it requires a strong CPU.

G4560 or 4600 over i3 7th gen. Twice ascheap for less then 10% performance loss. Also Ryzen 3 is 1200 or 1400X.

it not going to be an upgrade later, its going to be a completly new build as FX-6300 is AM3+. Not all AM3+ MoBo do support the stronger FX-8350 (which is on par with Pentium G4560) and neither does a Ryzen (AM4) nro Intel LGA-1151 fit. Also newer Plattform require all DDR4.

Be more specific as to what you have now and what you plan to buy?

The best budget cpu now is the i3 8100, the old news G4xxx 2c/4t is a waste of $ no matter how cheap it is.

Although the FX6300 is weak it really is about the same as the G4560 but the FX6300 has 0 upgrade path so Coffee Lake i3 8100 4c/4t really is the way to go for a tight budget even if you have to buy a Z mobo.

Ps 1050ti is bare entry level for 1080p these days, csgo runs on weak hardware so no worry there and GTA5 really does want older i5 4c/4t or newer coffee lake i3 4c/4t or better and Ryzen to run well and keep the min fps up.

Just get ryzen 3 you will have a great upgrade path since amd will support new sockets unlike intel

Fully agree, at least for gaming rigs - many thanks to AMD's ryzen for forcing intel to drop the crappy dual-core-only chips and make dual+HT the new office PC champs...

If you want a upgrade path with intel buy both processors on the same day before they change socket again. That is humor so just laugh.

OK, I see, I looked at your profile you have a PC now with FX6300/GTX750ti.

The problem is the specific games GTA 5 and csgo will be limited by the FX6300 but a GTX1060 6GB would be a good upgrade to move to your future cpu/ddr4/mobo swap down the road, the GTX1050ti is just too weak for future.
