And yeah, iBuyPower is notoriously known for using very low quality parts in their pre-built systems. If you like a firecracker as your PSU, feel free to buy it.
Ram is upgradable bro
Just found CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8140A comes with the new 8700K and a GTX 1080 with a Z370 chipset for 1,729.
After looking at stupid gaming laptops for a week I’m already getting excited at these specs for the price over here.
well is a ferrari that can drive 300km/h in the USA betetr then any car if you can only drive 120km/h anyways?
Same for computers is really 32GB RAM better when you never going to use more then 12-13GB anyways?
Also stay away from prebuils. Build your own PC it is really easy and everybody here who tried it for the first time succeeded. Own Build PC's are cheaper use better quality parts and have better performance.
Prebuild use low quality builds which are sold for oevrpriced costs and adding a really high fee for building that. For 1080p 240Hz or 144Hz it really doesnt require a GTX 1080 Ti. Below 1440p it getting bored and wont even be close to take a sweet. A cheaper GPU could do the same.
Is your budget USD?
PS: Customer online reviews are meaningless. E.g. Dr.Dre Beats Audio have really good reviews and every audiophile or member in such a forum laughts about those headphones as they are overpriced and terrible. Same goes for the normal consumer. They dont even know the difference between it works and it is actually good performance.
my lord on paper these specs are already awesome and I’m just getting started, model number GXiVR8140A for the 8700K one, but I’m open to suggestions.
My reqs are basic, 16gb Ram, gtx 1080 and Intel 7700k and above
What prebuilt can I find on amazon that has a 1080 GTX, with an 7700K Intel or more, 16gb Ram,
I’m looking to game at 240hz 1080p or 1440p 120 - 144 hz
Thx
Yeah budget USD, don’t want to build myself, I have my main system built by Digital storm and I completely agree with you, but this time I just need a decent prebuilt and amazon has an amazing return policy.
If not ibuypower I’m open to any prebuilt suggestions. Also not looking at 1080 TI just the regular 1080 to power 1080p 280hz or 1080p 144hz
Thx
Looking for prebuilt because the return policy is perfect for me and they ship everything free to my door. I know what you’re saying but just a day ago I was going to purchase a prebuilt gaming laptop, at least here I’m getting better specs
( Already have a custom from DS, this is a backup pc for the fam )
and normal 1080p can be done fine by a GTX 1060 if you want to be sure then GTX 1070. High fps is done by the CPu not the GPU...
Well I can put together a partlist that you can build yourself or youc an bring to a pc store and they build it for you while still being cheaper then rpebuilds. And no there are not good prebuilds espacially not on amazon (to be exact nowhere).
All you see right now is a i7-7700K, GTX 1080, 16GB RAM, 250GB SSD + 2TB HDD. Sound good but what you get is trash.
What you get:
- an i7-7700K that often is not a new one but a returned or refurbished version.
- A GTX 1080 Founders Edition where the coolign solution is terrible and overheating problems because of it holding back the already low performance. You often pay then a GTX 1080 but after 15 minutes of palying you already below the performance of a GTX 1070 thanks to overheating.
- 16GB DDR4-2133 holding back the real performance of the 7700K. Also bad and slow RAM chips from a non quality brand
- standard stock CPU-cooler left lying around or a 10$ equivalent which is not sufficient enough espacially with abd airflow.
- 250Gb ADATA SSD which are cheap but also the worth SSD on the market while being notacibly slower then a 5-10$ more expensive SSD.
- 2TB HDD with low RPM from whoever builds it the cheapest. msotly not the good fast 7200 RPM WD Black or Gold.
- cheap chinabrand PSU with low wattage highly endangering the PC. If it fries your PC then the return policy doesnt applies because suddently it was a "lightnign strike" and not the bad quality PSU (have seen it all).
Specs are right on but looking for sold by amazon specifically to have that return protection bro
Either way, with your budget, go 8700k, 2x8 gb ram (prices are nuts atm., 16 gigs are enough, and you can easily upgrade), and some 1080 or above.
Also, ibuypower isn't that bad. They obv. won't offer high end PSUs for some entry level gaming build. Generally their components are decent, if you do some adjustments also well rounded, their support is okay, and the build quality is quite good.
People just need to keep in mind that building, warranty, and service, costs money. Of course building yourself is cheaper. And your nearby store might be easily able to keep up with their pricing, while being... well, very local in case of problems?
I appreciate your time and I hear you, I don’t want you to think I’m not listening I am. The problem is I have literally no time / resources right now to be waiting for custom builds, I need to find the “ least “ crappy prebuilt and I’ll have a 60 day return policy with amazon because of the holiday season.
I get something can go wrong after 60 days. And if it does I will take it like a man.. but if you can help me find the least crappy prebuilt I would be content even if I know it’s not the best components ever.
Again thank you for your time though and I do agree with you, I just can’t do it. Prebuilt I can have here in two days making some memories with the family
Since you are member of Steam, you could have learned that reviews often mean a jack. CS GO is also the most praised game, yet its boring and their community gives you cancer if you spend there enough long.
IBuypower has strong marketing and is voted up by folks who don't know anything about computers.
Sure a i7 stays a i7, 16GB RAM stays 16 and Geforce 1080 will be a 1080 no matter what. You cannot fool on those. But.
You can put there a budget mobo, even a simple ECS, it will work. Then you notice that it has barely any ports, and only 2 RAM slots which are already occupied.
They often skimp on PSUs putting there chinabrands. They put the whole into some fancy case which barely any airflow and quality sucks. RAM can be some Team with cheap Hynix cips.
And iBuypower does exactly this.
Honestly build yourself.
Thanks for your post, I’ll pretty much just be honest with you.
I’m tired.
I’ve spent a week looking at gaming laptops like a moron. I’ve lost my sanity trying to find the perfect one ( clevos included ) and I just want this to be over.
Amazon has literally sent me a second laptop ( way in the past ) while letting me compare it to the first one before sending either back, free two day delivery and peace of mind 60 day return its all I need to go prebuilt.
( thanks for your comment btw )
