Which is the smarter buy: RTX 2080 (490$) OR RTX 2080 SUPER (740$) ?
Title, I know the performance difference isn't that big but I need other peoples opinions.

An rtx 2080 for $490 is a steal. You're better off buying that and overclocking it than spending almost 300 dollars more just for a very slight increase in performance which can be met with overclocking the regular 2080.

what r u using it for? if ur using it for 1080p u dont even need a 2080...i only have a 10 series i play in 4k, all games i run ultra and get a solid 30-60fps, resolution is more important than to me than fps as long as I have the minimum fps required for the picture to be playable.

2080. The price gap's positively huge, and the minor performance boost 2080S brings simply doesn't make up for it.

Pretty bad advice considering paying a few hundred dollars less for performance within 10% is a much better deal.
There's nothing wrong with buying a used GPU as long as it works, and it still has a warranty.

Only if you're stupid when buying a used PC component and don't test it before you buy it. Always ask the seller if you can test it before you even agree to meet, and if they refuse, run.
