Never use toothepaste on anything you want to clean, that you need to see through, its very abrasive, i have never heard of such a technique but i do know that toothepaste is abrasive which is why it cleans your teeth.

There are polishes out there that can fill fine scratches for you, have a look in a auto parts store, that is typically where you will find them. However nothing can remove scratches completely unless you get it professionally polished. Yes i have seen the TV commercials as well, claiming the impossible, its total BS.

The fine scratches, some good glass polish that has a filler included with it, and a micro towel, and some elbow grease is all you need. But dont expect a miracle if they are deep scratches.

Yes, usually case manufacturers have an online store selling replacement parts. Google "[insert your case name here] replacement side panel".

I doubt 3rd parties would dedicate their tooling and molds to create case parts with little demand.

Why not just purchase a lexan or acrylic sheet and replace your window?
