How do I remove optical drive?

I cant pull the optical drive out all the way even after removing all the screws. I think the black plastic part is blocking it but how do I properly remove it?

What make and model of case are you using? It depends more on case design than anything else, they all use slightly different clips and clamps.

Are you pulling to the inside or outside?
Just pull it outside, if it's not working there's something jammed

Make sure the screws are taken out on both sides, and make sure the clips are not in lock position on both sides, you should be able to pull it out, maybe a bit of force is needed.

I have an old ASUS case from 2000 - its construction and design has not changed dramatically, judging by the photos
I think, as in old buildings , the CD\DVD drive will be pulled forward, after removal of the entire front panel, which is mounted with clips on sides (typically 6 on large cases - 8)
after removing the side panels of the case, pressing a flat screwdriver, starting from the top (bottom and right in the middle of the wire coming from the front panel connector and USB)

What if the drive blocks the clip of the front panel?

this can not be, look closely, there must be a hole for the flat object to press the latch
sometimes the front cover of the case is screwed on further 2-4 screws

sometimes you need to remove the cap before removing the entire front of case

you have case in front of your eyes, I didn't see it from the inside, without photos is difficult to judge

housing cover made of translucent plastic if to highlight with flashlight, it becomes clear where the fastenings and latches placed
