Pixart's PMW3366 is typically regarded as the best optical sensor. You'll only find it in Logitech offerings, as it is part of an exclusively deal between the two companies. Is it the best? Depends.

Though, there are a few other sensors that are very close in performance. Typically with major differences only being highest DPI and overall DPI accuracy. Considering most people don't use super high DPI, this is usually pointless to most anyways.

PMW3389 is pretty nice. Razer Deathadder Elite uses it.

The Avago 3310 is nice, too. Zowie (now acquired by BenQ) use this sensor in a few very popular mice.

Honestly, I'd recommend looking at the entire mouse, rather than just the sensor.

Well, your performance in game isn't directly related to the sensor.

I'm not sure which sensor the Deathadder Chroma uses. May or may not be the same sensor as the Elite model.

Personally, I wouldn't touch Razer products with a 10 foot pole. I barely like to keep them in stock... But some people do buy them, so I always have at least a few on hand.

Pixart PMW3366 is the best optical but it is not exclusive to Logitech. MadCatz has it also (RAT 8 for ex) but with the death of MadCatz, it could be Logitech remained the only using it.To be honest, I've tested and owned lots of gaming mouse devices (Razer Mamba, Razer Ouroboros, RAT 7 MMO, RAT 8, Logitech G502, Logitech G900/G903) and all were excellent both for action (FPS) games or for MMORPG games (this is what I play mostly).Best quality/features/performane for a low price I consider to be the Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum which uses Pixart PMW3366...and not only me is saying that but also lots of reviews
3360 and 3389

Logitech worked with Pixart to design the 3366. Mad Catz probably made a last ditch effort with Logitech... Before they went defunct.

Nice necro, btw.
