GPU Bending.
Ok so i've just moved my hardware to my new case and have noticed my MSi Gaming X 8G GTX 1080 has a bit of a bend on it with its full cover water block. Should I be worried?

https://scontent.flhr4-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/15591508_1157481674298861_8823981295337494687_o.jpg?oh=6620169ac9f9f0e91dad1332994c3598&oe=58DF4ADE

This is it in the case.

I don't want my expensive gpu to get damaged.

I would be concerned. The PCB isn't going to break, but it is under some serious stress which could damage the components on it. A backplate helps rigidify the PCB to withstand the force causing the bend. If you can add a backplate, do that; otherwise, you will have to rig something to prop up that corner of the card. Something like a PCV pipe with a small radius cut to length and placed under the PCIE power plugs would do the job.

If you have a backplate I would recommend fitting that as it is designed to stop things like this happening.
You might want something like this

Or something DIY

Ok so I found this

https://www.scan.co.uk/products/ekwb-ek-fc1080-gtx-tf6-backplate-for-msi-gaming-x-geforce-gtx-1080-1070-anodized-aluminum-black?utm_source=google%20shopping&utm_medium=cpc&gclid=CjwKEAiAp97CBRDr2Oyl-faxqRMSJABx4kh9wVIlJfu8J5Wd44UXDyg1ZMn0dBmKYJV9FMIRNuWifxoCVgjw_wcB

This is going to sound like a stupid question but to save me emptying the entire loop. Is there any chance it would be installable without taking apart the entire loop?

Do you still have the backplate that MSI put on?

I do. But i think the EK one helps thermals doesnt it? Msi one is just visuals.

The EK one is no better than the MSI one, just put the MSI one on as it is free.

Put your backplate on. It should help.

Though, nothing to worry about. These PCBs are designed to be able to take such stress. It just might be annoying to look at.

If you want even more stability, you should look into getting something to help hold it up, like the Puget Systems GPU Brace.

Unfortunately, they do not ship internationally, so you'll have to find an alternative. I have a bunch of these on hand and absolutely love them. Real simple design, yet highly effective. You could get some acrylic and cut out your own brace... Assuming you have access to the required tools.

If you mean a backplate, yes any would do the job well.
I'd say forget the looks and use what helps out.
As more then likely a backplate from EK is gonna cost you more, when you don't even need it if MSI already supplied one with the GPU.

Update : I cant get the MSi Backplate back onto the GPU. I've emptied the entire loop and removed the GPU. However the screws holding the water block will not come out. they have a tiny bolt or something on the other side stopping them from being removed.

The back plate will not fit on without these screws being removed.

Final note : After failing to remove the GPU screws I have put everything back together without the backplate and will try something else on another day. Even if I have to hold it up with cable ties.

EDIT : The screws come loose enough to get the water block off but they are not coming off the GPU.

My GPU does the exact same thing and i went through a lot to find out if it was something to be concerned about.

some motherboards have a sort of rest or support clip on the PCI-E slot that you can use to support the card.

the reason it sort of sags at one end is because the PCI-E slot can not support the whole card, it's the slots job to keep it rigid, but it doesn't cause a problem, mines been like that for about a year.
