Is AMD Freesync worth it?
I'm getting this really expensive 600$ monitor from HSN.com (its like the only decent one there, my dad has a credit card with 500$ for the website) So Im deciding to get that monitor and it allows freesync with amd. Now I was going to get a GTX 1060 but I decided since the monitor is made for AMD that I would probably be better off with a Radeon Rx480. I still dont know if getting the GTX 1060 will create tear and stuttering. But if I get the Radeon RX480 will it prevent both of those things from happening with freesync? Here are the parts below.

I've got two options for you, a big one and a little one. They're both IPS panels, so you'll get a lovely depth of colour and a crisp HD image. Better yet, they're regular HD so you can run them easily on an RX480.

Nope. Just get one of those IPS models, your RX480 can handle them just fine.
but i dont want any tear or stuttering like those other monitors are all 60hz

Then set a 60 FPS Frame Limit.
GSync and FreeSync are pretty damn great.

They help with framerate fluctuations and make the overall image smoother. I turned GSync off the other day to see what it felt like playing without it and man what a difference.

I forgot how great it was until I turned off GSync just to see how it felt without it and damn I can't go back.

Agreed. Best gaming purchase I ever made.
If a GTX 970 can handle 4k then a rx 480 can do 1440p

If you come from a standard 60Hz LCD screen the sync techs are pretty impressive. Though if you have a good rig and are already used to 144Hz TN displays the step over to GSync is underwhelming. But when i switched to the XB271HU (GSync, IPS, 144/165Hz) that was a real eye opener. The increased image quality from IPS is pretty darnn great.

In retrospect i would recommend an IPS, preferable with high Hz support, over most other screens, regardless of wether it supports a sync tech and wether my used GPU is compatible with it.

Unfortunately HSN only offers the little FreeSync brother of my Acer, the one the OP picked, wich uses a TN film. And the IPS models on their site aren't really fit for gaming as far as response times go.

Regardless i really wouldn't throw $600 at a TN screen no matter how tempting. It's a waste of money..

I agree, not with such good IPS panels available for about the same price.
RX 480 8GB with freesync no brainer plus lately RX 480 beating living crap out of 1060 in most new games so 480 way more future proof.

No.
I was saying that if a last generation card which is a bit weaker can do 4k alright with half the Vram then an RX 480 will do 1440p pretty well.
