Go into Catalyst or Crimson > click Help > System Information
Then your GPU should be shown there; for example, 7550 or 7570 (as those fall within 7500 series)
As for as AMD GPUs go, they are generally just fine, you just happen to have an old one that was not even very good for 1080p gaming at the time of release. Back then when the HD 7000 series was new, best bet would have been something along the lines of say, 7770 or 7850 for decent/smooth gameplay in most games (depending on the rest of your system specs as well)
All this aside, if you want suggestions, please tell us:
> Country you are purchasing in.
> Budget range that is acceptable for such an upgrade.
> Other hardware specs & OS helps too (such as current Power Supply)
Good bang for buck (under $300 range) now would be:
> NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti 4GB / 1060 3GB / 1060 6GB
> AMD RX 470 4GB / 480 4GB / 480 8GB
*Please note that with the very latest AMD & NVIDIA series of GPUs, VGA (D-Sub) most likely will not be a viable option for Display connection choice.
I checked on Catalyst and it still wont give me specifics like 75XX or whatever, just says 7500 series. I agree it probably wasn't great to begin with. Some of those other specs you are asking for...
>purchasing in US
>$400~ so basically its this or a new console
>Here are the other specs...

If you dont really care about PS4 exclusives though and want a GPU that can play on 1080p then I would suggest GTX 1060 6GB. PS4 is worse when compared to PC in every cross platform game.
That is a good idea! PS4 is ok. I haven't owned a PS since I was 8, I've been a XBox player most of my gaming life. I am definitely thinking of that 1060 6GB though. I am super jealous of all these new games I can't play.
As with many OEM Motherboards from Dell/HP/Lenovo that are older, sometimes we see newer GPUs will not work in them.
I would avoid PS4 SLIM, they are very poor quality, just like PS3 SLIM was.
You can get the regular PS4 new for around the same pricing ($200 - 300 ranges)
Proof? The Slim has gotten good ratings from various review sites.
I have a PS3 super slim, which a lot of people said was "terrible quality" and it works perfectly fine and takes up less desk space.
I would suggest getting a PS4 to combo with your PC as Xbox One has next to no exclusives. 99% of Xbone games are cross platform and better on PC. And dont bother getting a Wii U, many of its best games will be ported to Switch when it comes out.
I have a 970 and it can play any modern game at at least high settings, if not ultra at 1080p/60 fps. The 1060 6GB is a bit stronger than the 970.
