You can't even see all the available Game options in many games when using such a GPU; cause it simply wouldn't support some features. The fact that it is single-link DVI is enough to say "Not worth using for gaming"
The problem is, to take advantange of your monitor you need an exceptionally powerful card. Most cards can run a game at 60 FPS, but to get any benefit from your 120Hz monitor you'll need at least 80 FPS. I'm not totally sure a 1050Ti can deliver that.
I bought a 165Hz monitor for myself, and paired it with a GTX1080. Anything below wouldn't have been able to push games along at the resolution and framerate the monitor is capable of. And I would've been better with a generic WQHD worth half as much.
What I'm trying to say is, you've bought into an expensive tech here.
In the future, when considering such a purchase, might have been good to ask first if you're not sure.
I'll probably just save a little extra and get good graphics card since i will be playing future AAA titles.
OP........ for 144hz you need a DVI-D cable and nothing else...... as HDMI is not capable of 144hz and display-port last i checked is limited to 90hz (correct me if im wrong on that one)
Also make sure it is a DVI-D cable, they arent all the same visually.
