GTX 970 PC not working, bios beeps
Recently I ordered a new graphics card, the GTX 970, and I installed it into my computer. Now, when i start my computer it will beep. First one long beep, and then two short beeps.
I have a medion pc with intel i5 core and it used to use a gtx 650, I have a 450 watt adapter and 8GB of RAM. How can I fix this? And is it even possible to use this graphics card on my pc?

What make/model of PSU and 970 do you have?

What Motherboard brand+model also?

one long beep, and then two short beeps; is general error regarding the video card.

Did you plug in the required PCIE power connections from PSU to GPU?

Where can i find information about y motherboard? I couldny find a btandname or model on the mptherboard itself, i plugged a cable with 8 openings of which 1 is a cube into the video card

That beep code indicates a video card failure. It could simple be that the videocard is defective. RMA it.
You could also check that the videocard is inserted properly in the PCIe slot and that all additional power cables are connected.

The cable connected to the video card has 8 openings of which one is square shaped, i was also able to use a cable with 6 of these openings but when i startes my pc it instructed me to use the other cable instead, sorry for the late reaction im a stusent and had exams

The video card is installed correctly, I did it exactly as instructed on a video. What does RMA mean? Im not really an expert with pcs

That won't be enough, you need an actual 8 Pin connector from your PSU. Get a proper power supply.

This 8 pin connecter came with the video card and im currently using it, the beeps still occur unfortunately

That's an 8 Pin to Molex adapter - not advisable to use these, especially not with low grade power supplies.

So, still the same: you need a proper power supply.
(assuming the card still / even works)

Then why did they give me this cable with the card? That seems weird to me. Why is an 8 pin connecter not suitable for this card?

I said it's not advisable to use them, never said it won't work - but either way, you gonna need a proper power supply.

according to my bad pc.knowledge, the 450 watt power supply shouldnt be the reason for this error, my pc should be able to run but slower, is this right or would a 550 watt power supply fix this error?

It's not about wattage on some label, but quality and actual power delivery. If your card doesn't get enough power, it won't work at all, or shut down while running - or other way around, if card wants x amount of power, but PSU can't deliver.
A good 450W will easily power a 970, low grade ones will not.

(all of that assuming that your 970 even works)

Okay, so i should test if ny graphics card works with a better power supply, if it doest then it is probably broken and i should RMA it right?
