Laptop core temperature hits 100 Celsius while gaming
I bought the gigabyte p55v5 laptop two weeks back cause I thought it had great value for money. I did see that many online reviews state that the laptop runs hot especially when loaded, but I thought that it wouldn't be an issue for me since i just planned on playing games on normal setting.
When browsing the internet, the surface of the laptop would be relatively cool and the CPU temperature would be at the 40 degree celsius range.
But once I started playing overwatch, the Left vent would blew uncomfortably hot air out and the left surface of the laptop where the WASD keys are would get hot as well.
HWMonitor and gigabyte monitoring software records that my CPU and GPU temperature to be in the 80-90 Celsius range.
Once while playing, I checked the temperature and saw the CPU core temperature peaking at 100 degree for a solid 5 seconds before cooling to the 80-90 range again.

The ambient temperature of my room is 30 Celsius and I use my laptop on a wooden study desk. I played overwatch on medium setting while recording the temperatures

So I would just like to ask whether I should be worried about :
(A) CPU cores peaking at 100 degree for a few seconds which i understand it to be near their operating limit, could HWmonitor be wrong?
(B)gaming while the hardware is at 80-90range
(C)such temperature affecting the performance and lifespan of the laptop or is the laptop build to withstand such environment?

I plan to get the opolar laptop cooler but am open to other solutions. Would changing the thermal paste help and if so, whether isit worth it to void the warranty since I have to open the casing to change the paste.

Thanks for your help and opinions!

As seen in the picture, core #0 and #1 peaked at 100 Celsius

U need coller
Get it replaced under warranty; it shouldn't be getting above 85*C
It's equipped to handle loads / games at that; but again peaking above that; there is an obvious issue with the cooling somewhere.
A workaround - Set max CPU state = 85% in the current power plan of Windows
I noticed it's already set to "Balanced" so it should already be capped.
High Performance plan is the one where it's at either 90% or 100%

The fact that it's reached that high temp; then something is clearly wrong; return it.

It could be that the Heatpipe cooler is not properly screwed down all the way, or lack of Thermal Paste. I have seen countless # of Laptops where people had issues from the start, we take em apart and see where it's as if maybe a pin-sized drop of paste was used as the laptop went down the assembly line. Just terrible.
