nvidia gtx 1060 = mid-range gpu, perfect for 1920x1080 gaming single monitor
psu = bronze rated unknown brand (?), questionable part...
i went with it because it was 200 more watts. should i have not?
the brand matters most as these manufacturers have the best reputation.
a seasonic branded 520W+ (true-rated) may perform better than a 700W generic psu (not true-rated)
sorry i have no idea what that means. im very new to this stuff
will cyberpower let me change my order if i just ordered it tonight?
all it said was 800 Watts - Standard 80 Plus Certified Power Supply - SLI/CrossFireX Ready
i upgraded from 600 Watts - Standard 80 Plus Certified Power Supply - SLI/CrossFireX Ready
i might be able to change it to the option 650 Watts - Corsair CX650M CX Series Modular 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply still within my budget if thats a better choice
xfx, corsair, evga are good brands but i don't have a personal experience using them.
(seasonic with 1-yr warranty and silverstone psu with 3-yrs warranty are readily available in my preferred store in the philippines)
Why do 4x4GB from the start, maxing out the board. Plus some boards will not support that properly; again you'd have to look at the motherboard manual for that.
Base rule I use for these newer systems is simple:
- If not Z170 Chipset; use either 2133 or 2400; whatever is better bang for buck and also lower CAS; as many times you may see 2400 is cheaper; and yes, even on say B150M, 2400 RAM can run at 2133 (which is the max if is not Z170 Chipset.
- If you are getting Z170 Chipset, then get 3200 RAM; if you are going to say "It's too much" then I say, why are you even going Z170 + K CPU anyways if you gonna cut corners.
