Which PC should I buy out of these choices?
Hi

I would like opinions on which PC I should I buy, I know neither of these are top spec, I know there are far better machines out there etc etc but I'm on a very small budget so would like to know is which out of these is going to be better for running Rust on medium - high setting.

1-
core i3 3.3 ghz
500gb hard drive
8gb ram
HD 5450 OR GTX 1050 new for £112

Total £140 OR £252 with gtx1050

2-

Brand New Aero Gaming Computer•

• Windows 7 Professional 64BIT

• AMD A6 6400K 3.9GHz Dual Core Black Edition (Turbo Clock - 4.1GHz)

• AMD Radeon HD 8470D APU Graphics

• 8GB FAST 1600MHz DDR3 Memory (RAM)

•750GB Seagate 7200RPM Hard Disk

• Gigabyte FM2+ USB 3.0 HDMI & VGA Motherboard

• 500W 120MM Silent Power Supply

• USB 2.0 x5 - USB 3.0 x3 Ports

• USB Dyno WIFI 150MBPS Adaptor

• DVD RW Optical Drive (optional)

• HDMI + DVI + VGA Outputs

£230

3-
Intel Quad core Q9400 @ 2.66ghz
320gb HDD
8gb RAM
GTX 650 gaming graphics card
£180

4-
Very powerful machine. Will play all latest PC games ( with right GPU, currently has Quadro FX card for CAD/rendering)
Xeon W3550 CPU - identicle to i7 920
12gb RAM - upgradable to 32gb
Quadro FX 1800 Graphics card (great for professional work but not much good for gaming -can be upgraded to GTX 560ti, GTX 470 or GTX 650ti for + £40)
80 GB HDD + 2nd Hard drive
Win7 OS
£195 or £135 with GTX 470, the seller says the 470 is better than the 650ti?

So which one would be best for performance playing Rust?#

Thanks in advance!

You either gonna have a PC for CAD or Gaming; not both.
Quardo is no good for Gaming. But then Geforce is not really good for CAD.

Gaming then you want Win10 64bit; something that you really don't want for CAD; depending on the Apps you're referring to.

Hey, I only want a pc for gaming :) it's just to play the Rust game, those choices above are what I have seen on local for sale sites I'm just not sure which one is best for the job?

None of that is good; it's all old junk.

Name a budget + currency + country, we'll put together a list that makes sense.

I would aim for this for minimum start:
6th Gen i3 or i5 CPU
B150M Motherboard
16GB DDR4 RAM
SSD
NVIDIA 1050 Ti -or- AMD 470
500W Gold Certified PSU
Win10 64bit

Thats the thing my budget would probably only buy me a graphics card and a hard drive new, that's why I am looking for a second hand one, ideally I don't want to spend more than £250, which is laughable I know..

I know you say the above are junk but I'm not after anything flash just something that will allow me to play Rust and maybe CS at a half decent quality. If my choice is only the above which one should I go with?

Thanks

Which i3 is in the #1 build?

I would just look around more; at this point the i3 w/ GTX 1050 is the best bet.
But full details do help, like Motherboard, PowerSupply, etc.

But also maybe just save up more; CSGO isn't demanding, but Rust is.

I will be finding out which version of the i3 the first build is.

I've also come across this one too which I can buy for £200, there's also another slot to add more ram.

CPU: AMD Athlon X4 860k overclocked to 4.0GHz (with room to go higher)
Cooler: Hyper 212 evo
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F87M-HD2
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 1866 8gb
Hard Drive: 160GB
GPU: Radeon HD6850
PSU: Corsair CX500
Case: Bitfenix Neos White / Purple windowed
Genuine Windows 10

Seriously, don't go AMD, especially not such a horribly outdated model like an Athlon.

OK I'll not go for that one then, how does number 4 build in my original post look?

Or is number 1 with the i3 my best best? And upgrade the graphics card and maybe the ram at a later date?

This is probably a stupid question so excuse me but if I was to get my budget up to say £300-350 would I be able to get a good set up on one of these build your own pc websites?

I helped a forum member pick out some parts and really the lowest cost for something worthwhile i3 6100 / Rx480 4GB /8GB ram 507GBP if you drop the gpu down to the gtx1050ti it might be more in your ballpark.

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/TVQgFd

458GBP ^ lower mid range gaming.

Thanks, makes more sense to me now seeing the parts priced individually, for the sake of £150 it makes more sense to buy new too.

What do you think of this I've put together for £377?

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/3B792R

It gets good results on game debate website I've been using to check the requirements for rust
upcoast 2016 年 12 月 3 日 下午 3:33
You'd need to overclock the FX6300 to match the i3 6100 and the am3+ mobo is not good for overclocking plus you'd need a 212evo to overclock.

The HDD you picked is for storage you need a 7200rpm wd black for an OS drive you can get by with a Seagate/wd blue or even Toshiba but they'd also need to be 7200rpm.

There comes a point of how far you can cut a budget and end up with something worthwhile at the end of it all.
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/rb9vd6 407.00GBP

It creeps up ^ and there's no 212evo hsf yet.

I'd take 1 with GTX 1050 or 4 with GTX 650 ti (GTX 470 is not better).

However there is another maybe better option which is to build your own brand new from parts:

AMD Athlon X4 845 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
Asus A68HM-K Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard
Corsair 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Toshiba 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
PowerColor Radeon RX 460 2GB Red Dragon Video Card
Thermaltake Versa H22 Window ATX Mid Tower Case
Super Flower Golden Green HX 450W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/9GC92R
Total: £327.26

Sure it costs a bit more but it's likely to provide better overall value compared to the used builds. This likely should outperform all the options you listed even with maximum graphics upgrades.

If you really can't afford that here's another option:

AMD A8-7600 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor
Asus A68HM-K Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory
Thermaltake Versa H22 Window ATX Mid Tower Case
Super Flower Golden Green HX 450W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply
Western Digital AV 160GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/DPrnyf
Total: £235.31

That one runs integrated graphics in the APU (CPU+integrated GPU) and the HDD is a tiny 160GB compared to the 2TB in teh first build. So this isn't as good value for your money BUT it is within your price range and you can upgrade it with a RX 460 graphics card and a larger HDD later on when you can afford to put more money into it. To start it should perform better than any of the other builds except #3 or 1 or 4 if you get the upgraded graphics options. Once upgraded with a RX 460 and a faster HDD it could be just as good as the first build.

That's more like it! I do like the one at £327, I've compared the details on the Can I Run It test and it comes one of the best I've tested so far and it looks like it shares some of the same parts in the build upcoast put together (thanks for that btw upcoast)

If I was to pick #1 or #4 and upgrade the gpu it would cost me around £250, for the extra £100 I'd be better getting a new one at £327 right?
