DisplayPort Cable or DVI for 144hz monitor ?

hi, just wonder if the cable I have ordered will support ASUS VG248QE 144hz monitor, as from the description of the DisplayPort cable they say that it doesn't support 144hz Video Display, as quoted; "Connects a DisplayPort (DP) equipped computer to a HD monitor or projector with DisplayPort port as input, not compatible with 144Hz video display"

From my research i found that DVI-D and Displayport cables support 144hz, should I buy or find new displayport cable or just buy dvi instead ? I prefer to have Displayport ccable but if it doesnt support 144hz its pointless.

I found another cable, now it says that it is 1.2v should I get this one instead of the one above ?

DP 1.2 will be fine, if you use a DVI cable, make sure it's a dual link cable.

i returned the first protduct and ordered the new cable 1.2v, I think the other one was DP 1.1v

ANY form of DisplayPort Cable (male to male passthrough) supports 1080p @ 144Hz, minimum before any oh no you need a newer version cable/port to support higher res/refresh occurs.

The Cable is just one factor; others are your Display and the Input Source, such as your PC's GPU.

Given your new cable; and what Display & GPU you have, now you should be fine.
Once connect the cable; switch the monitor to display port and power on your PC.
Then go into NVIDIA Control Panel set switch to a Res that actually supports the 144Hz.
DP will also offer another option; in NVIDIA Control Panel where it shows Res/Refresh, you will notice an option for Output Color Format; the Format should already be on RGB; but the Dynamic Range next to that might be on "Limited" change this to "Full"
