Upgrading Dedicated memory/graphics card

Hello, i really want to upgrade my graphics card becuase it only has 768mb of dedicated memory. Hoping to get it over at least 1.5 gb. Since I do not know my way around computers that well(I understand a lot though, mainly just hardware) I have a few questions.

1. How much can my system hold?
   
2. Do I need to ugrade my RAM as well
   
3. Do certain cards only work in certain computers?
   
4. What cards do you recommend that aren't too pricey (AMD)

You want more dedicated memory for a video card, your one and only option is to replace it with something that has more.

Video cards are not user-upgradeable.

In addition to what Snapjak said, since this is a laptop, you cannot upgrade the gpu. Your only option is buying/building a new computer.

The answer is no you can't upgrade the GPU on that laptop... There's nothing you can do, but buy a whole new laptop with much better specs or build a desktop which will cost a lot less than laptops.

I can put together a custom build for christmas, i understand the specs and how they work. Just wondering if it was possible to uprgrade my card without buying a whole new computer/laptop. Thanks everyone

You could always increase the RAM on the laptop, but that would likely yield only small improvements.

It's a laptop; if you want better, then replace it entirely.
