Stuttering in every game, help please?
Hello everyone,

the past months i got stuttering problems with every game i own.

Some examples are: DOOM, The witcher 3, shadow warrior 2, FFXIV, Overwatch, league of legends, PUBG, Mass effect andromeda, etc.

In every last one of them i get stuttering. When i look at afterburner i do get some high frame time spikes. Even when the fps is high it stutters so bad.

My specs:
CPU:i7 5820k @ 4ghz (stable, doesn't matter if it's at stock still the same problem)
GPU: GTX 1080 strix
PSU: CM G750M 80+ bronze
Ram: 16 gigs (2x8) of crucial ddr4 2133 ram
OS: Windows 10 creators update, 64 bit
Storage: 2x samsung 850 evo's 500 gigs
Motherboard: MSI X99s SLI plus
Monitor: Acer XB241h 144 hz G-Sync

My temps are all fine, cpu never exceeds 60 °C and my gpu never exceeds 70 °C, ssd's max temps are 30°C.

I don't know what the problem is, please help, because i'm losing my mind.

Make your your PC is not infected with any malware. Run a scan Malwarebytes and if it detects anything also Hitman Pro.
- Enable "Scan for rootkits" in the Malwarebytes settings before running a scan.

Wipe the GPU drivers with DDU app and install the latest stable non Beta drivers for your card.

Malwarebytes: www.malwarebytes.com
Hitman Pro: www.surfright.com
Nvidia drivers: https://www.geforce.com/drivers
DDU app: https://www.wagnardsoft.com/

It's probably a combination of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up Creators update that makes stuttering for many people (don't matter how high-end your pc is) and nvidia drivers. I see many people with stuttering on g-sync monitor.

If you have time, i'd suggest you to install WIN10 Anniversary edition just to see if the problem is windows, also try different drivers with it, first the newest ones, if stutter is there then 378.78, which seems to be the best performing and most stable ones for Anniversary, nobody has problem with those. Otherwise you could try preview windows update with latest nvidia driver, or wait for Fall creators update.

Then I am as clueless as you. Maybe test your RAM with Memtest86. And if the RAM is fine nuke it, reinstall Windows.

And if a reinstall doesn't fix it then most likely either the GPU or the mobo is causing issues.

uhm didn't know creators update caused problems, but now you say it it's porbally around that time i started having problems, but i can't neglect the chance that something else is wrong.

Where could i download windows 10 aniversary? And wouldn't it auto update to the creators update? Thanks for the advise i'll try the drivers aswell.

Yeah you should follow up one the Creators Bug :D update lead SoldierScar gave you.

You can't find the older version of Windows online (Via MS at least) so you will either need to have a Windows 10 disk or a old .ISO file.

You could try Windows 7 if you have a license key for it and see if that fixes the issue. Or go Linux untill this issue has been resolved by Microsoft.

You can download it here:
http://windowsiso.net/windows-10-iso/windows-10-anniversary-update-1607-download-build-14393-0/windows-10-anniversary-update-1607-iso-download-standard/

You can defer creators forever, when the creators update downloads and is ready to install, you have to download microsoft tool called "wushowhide" and there you will tick block 1703 update or something like that and it will be gone forever, you will still get security updates, id give you a link to the guide its easy but im in bed already need to sleep so try to google it. But you can also defer it for a month or so if you just tick "defer upgrades" in windows update settings if im not mistaken.

Update: i completed memtest and I had 0 errors, so i think i can say my ram isn't the problem.

Then it is most likely the OS. Like SoldierScar suggested.

Is the win10 game DVR disabled?
Check out this blurb http://www.thewindowsclub.com/game-mode-in-windows-10
Personally, I disable everything even though "game mode" is meant to make things better. Your mileage may vary.

should i try the windows insider program? because i read some messed up things, when they ask you to sign up it actually says. "May damage your system". So I don't know if i should trust that.

You can try it out, it's already a stable Fall Creators Update, at least the one in the fast ring, officially it will release in late october because they will sure find some little bugs.

What I realized that was causing my stuttering was my Gpu's memory, I underclocked the memory a little and it seems to have fixed all of my stuttering issues, Since my graphics card doesn't have a memory temperature sensor I didn't realize of the issue

Use a 144hz G-SYNC monitor.
Set V-SYNC to off
Make sure PC is clean.
Close as many programs as possible.
Disable full screen optimisation for all games
Use Intelligent standby list cleaner.
