Corsair 750w PSU users - need advice
ok this might sound complicated to explain but i will try my best

I have a gaming pc and have had the GREEN/BLACK corsair 750w M psu installed for the past 2 years. Recently i thourght it was making a noise so i swapped it out for a corsair750w M YELLOW/GREY version (one of the newer models) and booted my pc up.

Its been 2 days now and that loud sound i can hear is still there. I stopped ALL my fans in my pc last night and found the noise is indeed coming from the psu itself.

Is anyone else using 1 of these model psu and find them to be loud? i have noctua fans installed in my pc to keep it quiet.........so this psu is sorta defeating the purpose of it as its all i can hear unless i play something like a game or music so i cant hear it. My friend Deska says he has the same model psu and his is loud as well

im trying to find out if the model 3s (green/black) are actually quieter than these newer ones because i know my previous psu was NOT as loud as this new type4 model

Whut? Heck no. Corsair high end PSU are some of the best in the market. Almost universally acknowledged is that AXi makes the very best PSU. AXi, HXi, RMx and RMi are all high end models, they blow most of the Seasonic away except for THE top end Seasonic, which are equal.

You do not joke with 10 years warranty. Corsair top end is among the few PSU lines that offer 10+ years warranty.

They are all ATX PSU, same size. They are among the best, better than even EVGA Supernova G2 which is everyone's favourite but of course more pricey.

Corsair midrange is TX line. CMx is budget, cheapo stuff.
Corsair and cooler master doesnt make their own psus they rent oem companies in order to make psus in the name of their brand and which is cheap.

Yes, they are called Fabless Manufacturers. NVIDIA does not make chip. AMD does not make chip. Intel does make chips. Does that mean AMD and NVIDIA make cheap stuff? LOL

Corsair top end blow everything Seasonic makes except the Seasonic Prime, Prime Ultra, Focus or Platinum series. They are about same quality to those.

Does it look top end by the scoring? Pfft. I'm just laughing at you thinking Corsair top end PSU are somehow worse than Seasonic mid range.

Seasonic Prime is actually half a point worse in term of Functionality. Oops.

ok well if i go for the Rm750x corsair im guarenteed silent running unless i reach 50oc right? then it stays on for gaming and then goes off once below 50oc again yeah

im purchasing tonight hopefully as im SICK to the back teeth of this cx750
If you have coil whine, RMA that to Corsair. They have very good custom service.

In fact some of Seasonic PSU lines are famous for having irritating coil whine.

ive just noticed in some video reviews that the RM750x comes with the 24 pin connector NOT attached. I see its modular but in this video it has the 24pin with ANOTHER cable connected to it?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLfxY6MPuhY

whats that OTHER cable that she mentions about volateg or something?

on my motherboard i have the 24pin connector and in the top corner i have i THINK a 6/8 pin slot on the motherboard itself

i assume those cables come seperate and that there NOT on that same cable stuck together?

when i plug the 24 pin connector into the psu and the motherboard am i ALSO meant to connect that other plug which is connected to the 24pin cable into the psu as well or not?
Is Super Flower Leadex or EVGA SuperNOVA G3 not an option?
Dude, they are not attached. All full modular PSU came with cables unattached, that's the main selling point of modular PSU. You can't plug the cables wrong, they are all very clearly marked. Only plug in cables you need, that's the main reason you use Full Modular PSU, avoiding unused cables.

i know this BB and im greatful for the help but look at the video and u will see the 24 pin cable seems to be 24 at one end and the other end SEEMS to look like it has 24 pins on other end BUT also another cable attached to it

i havent seen that before so dunno what to do with it. Do i attach that part into the psu as well or leave it out? i really need some advice on it as i havent seen any psu's like this before as i always used a normal corsair psu but never realised before just how sh***y they actually were and this current psu im using (the ywllow and grey) has annoyed me to the point of wanting to take it outside and smashing it to pieces with an axe because the noise is getting to me that much

the minute i take the current psu out and replace it for this im selling it straight away

does anyone else here have one of these rm750x models because alot of reviews seem to be raving about them but i want to know from people who actually have them as i have a proper hardcore gaming pc which is what im gona be using it for
I am using rm750x. I don't even use 50% load running OC i7-6700k and GTX 1080 @ 2070Mhz.

What is the total energy draw in watts of all your system components (video cards, hard drives, etc.)?
I don't think you can trust Coolermaster or Corsair that much, it is? I have some Coolermaster and they made a loud noise. I have XFX PSU and it is good. I recommend them.

here is everything according to OHM

remember i JUST finished gaming for 6 hours - like litterally JUST finished so that might be why some things are higher than others such as temp2 which is usually high when i play a game

Power draw isn't noted on the hardware monitor chart you posted, but I figured it out from the components listed. Your system is likely pulling about 450-550 watts, so even figuring 80% efficiency on the PSU you should be under. I was curious about this, because in my experience, an exceptionally noisy PSU is a strong sign that it's being overtaxed, but it doesn't appear it is in your case.

Nevertheless, you might want to take a look at this, and see if it applies to you: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/54dvvz/psa_corsair_has_two_cxm_psu_models_green_logo_bad/
