Is the ASUS H110M-A/M.2 Socket LGA 1151 mATX Motherboard compatible with the i5-7400?

You MIGHT need to update its BIOS/UEFI first using a 6000 series chip.

Just buy a 200 series Intel motherboard to be safe.

Yes it will be good, if a bios update is needed not a big deal at all. Do not waste your cash on another MB unless you go for the 7600k than get a z270 MB to overclock.

There is a chance you may get a motherboard without the Kabylake BIOS update, and you be stuck with a motherboard you can't even use, with the CPU, or have to exchange it.

H110, H170, B150, and Z170, which will guarantee work out of the box for Skylake CPU's which is the 6th gen.

H270, B250, and Z270, which will guarantee work out of the box for Skylake & Kabylake CPU's which is the 6th, and 7th gen.
